Asuka is a teenaged martial artist who seeks peace and Justice in ways that are quite often foolish. In 2009, Ultra Jump began a manga based on the Tekken franchise with Asuka as the lead character.
Describing herself as the greatest fight-breaker in Osaka, Asuka Kazama pursues peace through violence as she puts down brawls in her hometown by beating the participants unconscious. While usually content to simply quash conflict in her hometown, Asuka takes her quest for peace onto a much larger stage when her own cousin, Jin Kazama, begins a war by declaring his conglomerate an independent nation and claiming various territories around the world as his own. Having only met Jin on one occasion, at his mother's ( Jun Kazama) funeral where he seemed to have a gentle disposition and kind face, Asuka is puzzled by his recent actions, but determined to stop him.
Despite her violent tendencies and short temper, Asuka has rather scrupulous values, as she sees her attempts to break up fights as virtuous, refuses money that she considers immoral and frowns upon what she sees as improper behaviour. She also shows concern for others who are down on their luck or who have suffered major losses.
In the Tekken videogames, Asuka made her debut in Tekken 5, when she entered the Iron Fist tournament in the hope of defeating Feng Wei, a powerful martial artist who had brutalized her father. There has been no reference to this in the Tekken comic, but as the manga takes much of its basis from the games but doesn't follow their plot religiously, this event might happen further down the line.
