The X-Men confront Emma with allegations that she was the one responsible for Jean's death, to which Emma denies. Emma tells them that she has left the inner circle before the events of Jean's death. Hisako awakens and it is revealed that Emma was hired to help mentor Hisako on using her powers since the Xavier school for mutants was shut down. When Emma traveled to Japan, she too was captured just as Hisako was. One of the U-Men attacks the X-Men, and easily subdues them with the information he collected on each X-Men member. Just as he attacks Emma, Hisako's powers awaken and she defeats the U-Men. Hisako however loses control over her abilities and lashes out, but Emma is able to calm her telepathically. The X-Men are able to rescue the other captured mutants, but just as all seemed well, the defeated U-Men launches a direct attack towards Hisako but Emma quickly rushes to protect her...
