Arachne

Arachne is a spider witch who is responsible for creating magic weapons nearly 800 years ago. She is the sister of the witch Medusa and technically aunt to Crona. She took the souls of witches and crafted them into the weapons, giving them their powers as well as the ability to transform between humans and weapons. This practice though would not only garner the attention of Lord Death, but also Maba and the witch sisterhood as they did not take lightly to Arachne killing her brethren to craft these weapons. 800 years before the series, she fled Death and hid her soul inside the shell of the first Golem to be made in Loew Village in the Czech Republic. While her soul would reside there, her body would break down into thousands of spiders, spreading throughout the world as her eyes in the world until she would be revived.

Her servant and chainsaw weapon Giriko would keep watch over her soul until Asura was resurected. Through the waves of madness did Arachne reawaken, her spider bodies coming together to reform her body. She tries to get rid of Crona and Maka early on but is interupted by Justin Law, who came to help them. She flees with Giriko as she meets her servant Mosquito, a short man. He takes her to her underground castle to meet Arachnaphobia, the network she spent 800 years creating. She confesses her ultimate goal is to kill Death.
