Origin
In Okinawa, Ao was frequently shunned and treated as a foreigner, but he had a friend in Naru Arata.
Creation
Ao Fukai is the main protagonist in the Japanese anime series Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean produced by BONES, directed by Tomoki Kyoda, and written by Kakuto Takeyoshi. The character design was by Hiroyuki Oda. It originally began airing on April 12, 2012.
He first appeared in Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean - Episode 1 "deep blue", and his first manga appearance was in Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean Piece - Volume 1, Ch, 1 "??". His character in the Japanese series was voiced by Yuutaro Motoshiro, and the U.S. dub work produced by FUNimation has yet to announce a voice actor.
