Shoji Kawamori, famous for his work on such titles as Escaflowne, Macross (just about all of it), and others-- and well-known for mech designing –doubtless has his pick of anime projects to work on. Attaching Kawamori's name to a series will guarantee a certain amount of audience, not unlike J.J. Abrams' or Stephen Spielberg's.

But the project he's working on now is a liiiiittle different: titled Anyamaru Tantei Kirimin Zuu (wordplay on Animal Detective Kirimin Zoo), it revolves around the three Mikogami sisters, Riko, Rimu, and Nagisa, who live in the city of Kamihama, and they stumble upon a strange makeup compaact in their attic With the compact, called Kirumin, the girls actually transform into real animals-- a at, a bunny, and a dog respectively.
It looks insanely cute. Here are some of the shots that MyCom has, and they have a lot more sketches and stuff, too. Perhaps the next big mahou shoujo series (since Shugo Chara!)-- or maybe more of a Chii's Sweet Home title? I guess we'll see! With Kawamori behind it, we can definitely say it'll be interesting, at least.
