Fun fact: The guy directing this is the same one notable for directing hentai titles Kite and Mezzo Forte. XD
Beyond that, this baby's easily one of the most visually impressive titles of the season and the premise is unique enough where I'd be willing to hop on it throughout the Winter season.
@Dream: Cant tell if he had much to do with Mezzo DSA which is part of that franchise but this sorta reminded me of that.Original Kite was pretty out there.Seems if i recall hollywood wants to try to make live aciton ruin of it.. err mean film.
@Dream: Yeah .. it went all wub wub an Kick Ass! /shigh. I like how they go on about how Samuel Jackson is a fan of the source material... he was for The Spirit to just like Frank Miller. An that turned out what mabye 40% ish of the comic.I think Hollywood has lost the right to just use "based on" it should be now "Losely based on .. sorta!"
So cool same dirctor as Mezzo DSA i need to track down the ova now. Seriusly had that vibe the tv show had when watching this so now a little piece of the anime world makes sence to me.
@Marshal Victory: Unless you want to see the graphic sex in it, try hunting down the edited release for the Mezzo Forte OVA. Unlike Kite, the sex scenes don't really add anything to the story as the title's highlight is more its ridiculously over-the-top action scenes (must be seen to be believed).
@Dream: Yeah unfortunatly i only found a uneditied version. An yeah the x rated ( NC-17 for the younger folk) sceens are in there for shock value really. It really felt out of place since they add nothing story wise .Rest was just as ya say it was the tv show but pushed to a extreme violent level. The fight sceens were pretty good.
Wonder if some of the same animatiors are on this show. You have a similar face style.
Oh lord....muppets after dark...I got the corrupt law vibe after the first episode when she went to see the lady in jail, and the general racism against wizards (though given the power they have is somewhat understandable). Haven't caught up with this yet so glad that it stayed good.
@takashichea: Yeah that was a good cach on the muppets. I can just hear the muppets lawyers reving their engines if this comes to the states .
@zaldar: Its pretty solid show. Not geting the turn off for some on the magic mech like big armor tho. Was doen before in anime so not sure what the probem is.
But i can see they gave them selves room for ecchi/henti ova like they did with Mezzo DSA. Second episode did have me worried about the series but 3rd redemend the series for me.
@Marshal Victory: You can trademark the names Kermit and Ms. Piggy and I am sure they have but you can't really trademark a "look" and this isn't nearly close enough to have a copyright problem. If the Disney lawyers tried this hell I'd take the case probono and beat them. Even if you could trademark a look the looks here are not nearly close enough - no one is going to mistake this for Kermit or Ms. Piggy.
@takashichea: If we see Barney a purpal dianasour I want it to die. Just because. An wiggles should be truned to worm food.
@zaldar: Does the mouse own kemrit now? I mean their dam lucky on what they stole with the lion king an got away with. Would take balls the size of the moon to sue a anime after what they have stole from anime in general.
Just to let you know, I do get your replies. Because of there are so much things going on, I will reply later than usual, but I always comment for the sake of the community. I hope your recent visit to the hospital has good news and a chance of recovery. Don't know what I do without you. You drive the community's discussion threads, you alone.
Luckily, I did watch this episode last night. Can't believe Cecil got a new power. With the anime series doing individual cases while revolving around a main case or conflict, it reminds me of Hamatora and Case Closed. yeah, I did watch Hamatora for the first time (We'll talk about Hamatora in the Hamatora Discussion Thread). I watched 2 episodes.
Looks the legal system isn't what it's cracked up to be. I hope the series doesn't pull what Gargantia did. I have high hopes for this series.
