Random Curiosity where are my screencaps for episode 14?!

Post by Marshal Victory (1,952 posts) See mini bio Level 13

Quite a bit of depth on this series.It seems popular enuff but doesnt break top 10 tv ranking tho.IN some ways it reminds me of Patlabor as in like the mechs are there but not the stars of the show.This season its lighter moments seem to be fewer an farther between to.

@Acura_Max:

I almost forgot. It's not my turn this week. My bad. RC is behind b/c the writers are facing constraints in their schedule. One of them dropped Coppelion.

@Marshal Victory:

Didn't know you're a fan. Welcome! I need to try Patlabor.

Post by Marshal Victory (1,952 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@takashichea: Patlabor is well it was just way before its time. If you combined tv shows Hogans Heroes, F troop, threw in mechs added slice of life to the comedy that makes it difrents.Where as a good cop show has guns but the guns arent the focus of the show. Patlabor is same way.The mechs are there but not the main focus..Its odd that it had also two seprerate runs as ova an a tv series an that the 1st two movies tie in so well to the series.

Valvarve sure does have its moments the mechs are the center of attention .But the characters are the focus way more than the nice mech design.It might own some to Mobile Suit Gundam for world back ground but its balance more tword the characters ,than the mechs i think over all.A bloody, twisted, high school turns mech , turns rebelis,vampire anime.. how could i not like that .I think what made it suffer in rateings tho on some sites its made out to be a Twilight/gundam hybrid.

Marie no!

Why did she have to die? She was my favorite character. I swear this series is turning out to be a Guilty Crown thing. I wonder if they broke the news to Shoko.

@takashichea: yeah that was the best line " allow me to abduct you" in the series so far.Seires ows some things seems to Gundam an Robotech but its got a mad scientist nazi vibe going in part of episde 6 .Great episode.If shes his sister tho their going all star wars on us.

@Marshal Victory:

I was wondering about their relationship. If they're blood related, I'm thinking they're distant cousins.

With the master race of Valvrave humans (Homo Sapiens Novos), it remind me of Guilty Crown and maybe Code Geass with the whole build the world for just us. I haven't watch Code Geass since I only saw the Valentines episode for kicks.

Post by Marshal Victory (1,952 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@takashichea:

I start Code Geass an stop.Then go back an rewatch one again.Something else always comes up an i keep forgeting about it.Animation was good an the story seemed solid enuff.But fall anime 2013 seems to have so much anime barely have time for older titles atm.

I reallly hope they dont do a kissing cousin, sister thing.If she is his love than that makes him even more dangerous for what he would do for her.

Things escalated quickly in yesterday's episode. Now, I hate Shoko. What kind of friend turns in her friend? I swear this series will have a Guilty Crown like ending with a high body count for my favorite characters.

11 was good but again forshadowing was way to heavy .I hope they stop the fast forwrd stuff an the heavy forshadowing.

Another Valvrave pilot died. Damn it, Valvrave, why must you toy with me. It's the cost of victory. You can't win unless you are willing sacrifice yourself. Shoko had to put a brave face and tell Haruto to back away. Deep in her heart, she finally knows the truth.

I swear everyone will die except for A-drei, Shoko, and Haruto (Saki and Satomi are already confirmed alive). I think L-elf would die in this series because cool guys finish last while wimpy, main protagonists like Haruto and Shu Ouma live.

@takashichea: Same thoughts on who lives an who dies.L-elf was a deadman to begin with! Tragedy follows the wake of those with a - in their name.Its a unwriten rule or something like that.But seriously ya longer the series goes on i expect him to die any time.

Like i said the flash forward stuff kills the suspense of the show.

The ending of Valvrave was full of unanswered questions:

  • Who the hell is L-elf's wife and mother of that child?
  • How are Saki, Akira, and Satomi still alive?
  • Was that Shoko in the throne of heroes or her descendant? What the hell are two green beings?

I was shocked that the main protagonist had died, but I'm glad. The series has the balls to kill its annoying and indecisive hero. I always thought L-elf would die because cool characters finish last. I always compared this series to Guilty Crown while others compare it to Code Geass. I can't compare it to Code Geass because I haven't watch it yet.

Just finished the first season, and absolutely loved it. As a huge Gundam fan, I see a whole lot of similar elements that just make me gush over Valvrave. No spoilers yet though guys. I still have the second season to finish.

Found out early on that I don't like spoilers in this anime. For example I knew ahead of time that Aina was going to die, but I was surprised how quickly it happened after I was spoiled. Not to mention how she died was much more brutal than I thought it would be. So I'm trying to save myself from spoilers so I can get the full effect of all the twists and turns in the plot.

Check out my review of the first season: http://www.animevice.com/valvrave-the-liberator/11-6597/user-reviews/?review_id=1372

There will be two more reviews after this one. One covering the second season, and the final covers an overall look at the series.

@Delphic:

I'll bump it for you. Sorry, I was busy with community projects. I will read your Valvrave Reviews

I have to answer you through PM because my shameless self advertising got the thread flood protection thrown on me. Anyway.

I'm not certain if the child was even L-Elf's. The epilogue of the series takes place over 200 years after the battle for module 77 ended. It could be a decedent maybe? Perhaps related to A-drei, since he was royalty, and pretty much took over the Doressian's who sided with the Kamistuki and the rest of the Sakimori students.

Saki and Akira were both Valvrave pilots, which pretty much made them artificial Magiuses, and the Magius are pretty much immortal. They even state that they had been alive since the early periods of man's history. I think the only way a Magius can actually die is if their supply of runes is expunged. So Saki and Akira probably found a means of having a steady supply of runes keeping them alive. As far as Satomi, at some point he probably went through the same process as Haruto did and became a Kamisutki. After all L-Elf did say that all the students at Sakimori had the capability to be Valvrave pilots. Also there was a random battle between Saki's Valvrave and a random war machine and the pilot said "You Golden Seven sure do live up to your reputation" so perhaps Satomi is one of these "Golden Seven" which would make him a Valvrave pilot.

In the final scene that is more than likely Shoko instead of some descendant. She was also already dressed in battle attire, which means she's a Valvrave pilot. That would make her a Kamistuki like Saki and Akira. The green beings are probably Magius Hunter/Killers, seeing as their job was apparently infiltrating and cornering Shoko.

@takashichea: There's no need to rush with the reviews. I just really wanted to answer your questions, and I couldn't on the thread. haha ^_^
