Valvrave the Liberator always seem to pack the most surprises this season. I never excepted this plot twist at the end of this episode. I felt bad for Shoko who lost her father. At the same time, I was shocked at Haruto asking Saki's hand in marriage. I believed he did it out of guilt since he raped Saki last episode. Still, Saki rubs me the wrong way. She expresses jealously of Haruto and Shoko and hid Shoko's call from Haruto. This series will not have a happy ending. I feared that Shoko might end up dead since Saki was shown alive in a future scene in one of the episodes. Besides those elements, I enjoyed that we get to see Akira's past. Though, it felt out of place given the plot in this episode.

I watched the last episode. God, this series always surprise me. I made the wrong bet on the purple Valvrave. It was a 50 50 on Akira and Shoko.

@Acura_Max:

I'm late with the Crunchyroll and Anime News Network news. I caught this one. Guess what our little OS-tan's true name is?

It's Pino while her brother is called Prue.

I forgot to do the movie guide for the summer. While I'm working on it and the raw script, can you add Pino's older brother? We have to change OS tan to Pino soon.

Thanks Acura!

A flashback in Valvrave’s manga series reveals the night Saki committed adultery with the protagonist was not the first time she won the erection – she has a history of scantily outfits and assorted grown men.

Given that she turned a night of rape into voluntary copulation, it should come as no surprise that she already was no virgin. As a younger schoolgirl, she was evidently forced into a variety of illicit situations – like posing for shady photography in a collection of immoral outfits, to no outfit at all, and also having to submit to the whims of anyone who wanted anything out of her.

This made me a bit mad. Oh well, fans are crazy.

@takashichea: I thought she was joking when she said she had a dark past of sexual encounters with men. Is this like a prequel or spin off novel?

@Acura_Max:

It's definitely a spin-off series. Just that it covers Saki's career as an idol that takes place before the main storyline. Oh wait, did I confuse myself? Yeah, I was surprised. Then again, this franchise is so screwed up. Though, I see more twisted shows than Valvrave, Deadman Wonderland and Seikon no Qwaser. There's no forced sex, but the violence against children the like is just gut wrenching.

@takashichea: You mean there's just going to be violence and no sex in this spin off? From the description and that image you showed me, I thought it was going to be Lar von Trier's Nymphomaniac.

@takashichea: Look at these cool Valvrave character designs for the second season. L-Elf is looking like a boss as usual and Shoko looks like a real president.

@Acura_Max:

Oh yeah, two can play the news reporter.

Black Butler's Toboso Yana makes Bishie characters for the official anthology.

@Acura_Max:

I just realized we need to created a new page for Valvrave the Liberator season 2. You know what's weird. You may have heard me say this, but I get confused with the wiki pages. For shonen shows, we use the same anime series page. For other shows, we just add a new page for the new season. Though, it depends if ANN listed it separately.

@Acura_Max:

Not sure if I'm using the word right. It's a retcon if these two characters are students of JIOR. I would have remember a pink haired girl and blue Bedamon guy.

Oh, I found this pic of Haruto and L-elf. I wonder if this is the most popular crack yaoi pairing.

Episode 13

“I’m going to feed on no one but you, L-elf” - Haruto

This was practically a gift wrapped present to anyone shipping Haruto x L-elf, especially the erotic kind.

Otherwise, nothing much happened.

Episode 14

That pink haired princess from L-Elf's past returns and she's...looking like she hasn't aged a day since L-Elf was a kid. That scene went by pretty fast, so I might have not seen it correctly. But for now, I'm just going to assume that the princess at the end is a robot copy and that the real princess had died long ago.

Also, more Valvrave-ish shenanigans happened this episode.

(Pictures coming soon)

@Acura_Max:

The girl is a robot. That's a wild prediction, but this show always surprises me. Though, I think not. She just got taller. Ep. 14 really shows Satomi and Akira's past and how much Satomi was a bad brother. I love how I forgot her name groped Akira's breast. I was like "what the hell?"

Off tangent: Can you bump the Supernatural discussion thread?

@takashichea: That girl who groped Akir'a breast is named Marie Nobi. I actually laughed at scene because it was pretty silly. I'm guessing the animators didn't have enough content to fill up 24 minutes and used that scene to take up time. You could have ripped that scene out and you still would have understood what had happened. Actually, the scene would have flowed alot better. They literally stopped in the middle of something to do that and then suddenly they remembered that they were doing a character developing moment.

There were other pointless scenes in the episode. Like that part where Raizou Yamada started flashing his chest. That scene was probably fan service for the ladies. Though, I'm not sure why they didn't use a more popular character like L-Elf or Haruto for that. All in all, it seemed like a typical Valvrave episode.

Off tangent: Can you bump the Supernatural discussion thread?

Doing that right now.

All I need is Saki's OP shot, Haruto's OP shot, and we're golden.

@Acura_Max:

Wonder what H-neun and Kriemhild are up to?

Edit:

I couldn't find Saki's OP shot. I assembled some pieces that I will stitched together.

@takashichea: Wasn't there also an OP shot of L-Elf? We're probably find some shots when Random Curiosity uploads the op screenshots. He/She didn't upload any screenshots of the OP in the last episode because they didn't play the OP.

@Acura_Max:

L-elf's shot is hard. It zooms out. Yeah, you're right. I'll just wait.
