@takashichea: I am a quarter japanese but I can't read Kanji. Sorry I can't help you takashichea.

@Obsidian609:

It's cool. I brought up the whole concept and object wiki page. Do you ever consider adding a Gundam concept page and making it a hub for all those specific Gundam models object pages?

Before I hit the books again, it's my turn to do Valvrave the Liberator. It looks like we have more fan service. Damn, Random Curiosity ruins the surprise with their preview images on the home page.

So far, this series is even more hilarious than Majestic Prince and that series was trying to be funny on purpose.

Episode 6

In this week's episode, more fan service is done and we get to see a side of Saki that we never saw before. In the earlier episodes, she was completely and utterly serious. Now she's an attention hog because...why not? Also, Twitter saves the day once again. I'm starting to think that the animators know how nonsensical their plot is and are just rolling with the punches. Even in episode 4, the characters were complaining about how stupid other characters' actions were. Also, the show may have jumped the shark (if it didn't already) when Saki's Valvrave grabbed a cape and pretended to be a superhero.

@Acura_Max:

Thanks man. I was waiting for someone to bump this.

Episode 5 was amusing. Shoko is random, but I love how she attempts to cheer up everyone. The series does not pull back with the fan service, lots of Gainax Bounce. You can't really take this anime too seriously.

I thought Saki was cool, but I never knew she was an attention deprived little girl due to abusive parents and some bad idol career early in her life.

Let's make a prediction on the Valvrave. I bet A-Drei will take the Blue Valvrave. It's a wild guess.

I forgot about that guy. The idea that he will take the blue mech sounds about right. Also, in this episode, he also continues to yell half of his lines; I can't help but laugh everytimes he screams L-Elf.

Also, when create the page for Saki's valvrave (Valvrave unit VVVIV I believe it was called), we mustn't forget to give the alias of Carmilla.

@Acura_Max:

Oh I forgot. Why don't you go ahead and add it to Valvrave Four? It's a challenge to describe these mechs.

Hmm, we have a purple Valvrave and an orange one.

I'm thinking Kyuuma will take the orange one while Akira takes the purple one. I was going for gender balance.

Aina Sakurai is dead for sure unlike Shoko who I thought was dead in episode 1 back then. I actually liked Aina a bit.

I thought she's L-elf's sister, but I was wrong
I thought she's L-elf's sister, but I was wrong

I thought this little girl was L-elf's sister until the next episode reveals she is of nobility. She did "halvsies" with L-elf. I love how she just casually took the pin from L-elf's hand. Finally, the students get a rude awakening. They were living life like there is no tomorrow in episode 2.

I think my previous bet with who would pilot the blue Valvrave is wrong. The episode's title is "Thunder ___." Raizou Yamada's nickname is Thunder. He might get the Blue Valvrave. Otherwise, it would be Kyuuma Inudzuka who is obsessed over avenging Aina's death.

Edit:

Cain's bride might be the anime girl we see on Haruto's dashboard. Her soul might be in the Valvrave in that photo.

Phew, I finally caught up on the episodes and I sorted episode 7's screenshots into the character pages.

Episode 7 opens in a really weird way. First the green valvrave is fighting a ox head and then Saki mentions something about a promise she made 200 years ago. Then the opening plays and it is never mentioned again.

The Valvrave that pops at the end of episode 8 looks like it might be Valvrave 02.

@Acura_Max:

Good job on the images. I just finished Aina Sakurai page since she is dead.

Don't read this if you haven't watched Dogs and Thunder, the latest episode.

L-elf was right. I thought this school was suspicious because the ARUS pilots died when attempting to pilot the Valvrave. The students in Module 77 are capable of becoming pilots through unknown means. Cain's bride might be inside that Valvrave and that mysterious entity with the long green hair.

It was interesting that Kyuuma and Raizou did a better job in manning their Valvrave than Haruto and Saki did in their first time.

@takashichea: I just seen the 10th episode and I will write an episode summary for it soon. Anyway here are my thoughts on the episode. Don't worry, I won't include spoilers if you have not seen it yet.

Episode 10

It seems like they are just trying to inject some actual tension into the series since the colony has been basically cruising through all of their problems. However, I think all of it pretty stupid. The ending scene in particular is just over the top and out of left field. Sure, they foreshadowed it, but it was poorly done and it contradicts the first episode. Also, if you try to fit it into the show's "mythology," it just sounds stupid. I hope they actually go into depth on the subject. Otherwise, it's just there for shock value.

@Acura_Max:

I think we have our first implied sex scene. Also, I didn't suspect Shoko to had lost her father back then. I see what you mean.

@takashichea: I didn't either. I believe they threw that in as well. It just doesn't make sense. A prime minister of a big country just dies and no one makes a big deal about it. Everyone in that colony should have known. They have twitter and the internet. Damn, I'm putting too much thought into this.

@Acura_Max:

That rape scene is so out of place. I thought Haruto had those attacks to body jack people. First, it was two guys now Takahi and Saki. Code Geass didn't have a rape scene, right?

@takashichea: There seems to be a controversy with this scene. Apparently the scene was leaked a week in advance and it still caused much discussion when it aired. Random Curiosity received about 150 comments in a day after it aired. The conspiracy theorist in me says the studio released it so people would pay more attention to Valvrave. However, I can't say for sure.

Looking through the comments section on random curiosity, there were a wide variety of reactions to the scene. Here they are:

  • Someone guessed that the scientists had programmed a survival mode to the Valvrave. When the Valvrave ran out of power, it would force the pilot to go into his most primitive state to survive. This sound like the most reasonable explanation for everything.
  • One person said that Vampires represented sexuality and he does have a point. A vampire's bite is supposed to represent penetration. That has been true since Bram Stoker's Dracula.
  • Most people liked the scene because it was shocking and it was a huge "twist."
  • Other people felt that Saki wanted the rape. They argued that she was eyeballing Haruto the whole time and the part where she hugged him counted as consent. There was a varying degree of sexism. Some were legitimately confused that Saki had hugged Haruto. Others, well, this should explain everything
Psht,we all know she wanted it.Women are much better liars than men – whether it’s with words or facial expressions
  • Finally, there was one or two people who liked the rape scene in the way that you're not supposed to.

Regardless, it at least pushes the plot forward somewhere. We're going to have to watch the other episodes left to see if it's just for shock or if there is a reason for it.

@Acura_Max:

I feel bad for Saki, Haruto, and Shoko. The Valvrave AI was so creepy. She was typing SEX all over the scene when the rape occurred. I'm still wondering why Haruto has those attacks while the others don't. What was L-elf doing? I know he was at the election, but I felt suspicious about him. I think he should know what happened. Next episode, I hope they explain more about the Valvrave, Cain's ambitions, and the rest of things.

According to ANN, the show has 13 episodes. I hope it gets an ending.

Edit:

She hugged him because she feels pity on him or wants to protect him

@takashichea: Many are predicting that this story will continue into a second season. I wouldn't be surprised if it did. Code Geass and every Gundam series have 50 episodes under their belt.

Code Geass didn't have a rape scene, right?

I don't remember a rape scene, but it did have a masturbation scene.

It's like collecting Gundam figures again. When I first saw that Valvrave girl picture, I thought she was asking about sex and insertions.

So A-drei is getting his own spin-off novel becausee...um why not? Giving side characters novels seems to be a trending that is picking up.
