@Bigheart711:

I should read the manga. I was curious how it was and how the anime is faithful or not. I was curious that someone said the anime skipped an arc.

holy shit, Kaneki went Lelouch on Rize. "It is not I who is wrong, it is the world."

then he completely destroyed Jason.

Kaneki finally takes charge, and I thought he was going to violate Rize. He just ate her and took control of his inner demon.

The final episode was too much drag. It was nice to see Kaneki's past and the psychological talk between Rize and him. For it span more than half of the episode, it was stretching and boring except for Jason's torture which was excruciating to get through.

The battle between Jason and Kaneki was action packed, but I wish we got to see it earlier. It was not worth the long wait.

@takashichea: Not sure if it wlll get carried over season wise. Kinda think it will. But this episode 12 felt padded. The white back drop at times sure helped their animation budget tho.

A lot of folks told me the anime had ended along with the manga. The manga has over 100 chapters, but this series eon't get a second season.

After episode 12, the overall show ended up being pretty fun despite the "non-ending" which was also entertaining. Kaneki's full awakening and Jason's annihilation turned out to be my fave parts of it.

Rumor Squad (Although this is on ANNplease treat this as a rumor until otherwise noted): A second season was announced on China's official streaming website for this series, but it may have been too early considering that the original creator for the manga teased an announcement via his twitter account that can show up on the Young Jump and official Tokyo Ghoul websites soon.

@Bigheart711:

I hope the rumor is true. Though, it should appeared in the official Japanese site.

I just finished this anime in one go... I've heard the anime ends on chapter 66 of the manga so I started reading from there.

Can someone tell me if it's a waste to skip those 65 manga chapters? In other words, does anime skip any important manga scenes (except those gory scenes which are censored).

I'm currently reading manga from the beginning. I'm at chapter 20. I'm a bit slow.

You could ask who had read the manga series.

@takashichea: Looks like you're on Volume 3 as well. So far, it's very good.

@bigz007: The manga skips a lot. Primarily details of quinque, kagune and RC cells completely skipped. They do a couple chapters per a single episode. They've skipped entire arcs. Its pretty bad if you ask me.

I did notice they were more detailed with Quinque and Kagune as well as different types of Ghouls. Also, they make a lot of reference to the Black Goat's Egg in the manga than the anime. In the manga, Ken Kaneki discovers coffee is drinkable by himself. A lot of differences I been seeing.

I had heard they skipped arcs.

Noticed they put Amon and Mado's arc before Shu's arc in the manga.

@takashichea: I meant to say, "the anime skips a lot". Sorry if it was confusing.

@Marshal Victory:

Thanks for the confirmation. No more rumors. Just solid facts. I was sad that Knights of Sidonia got pushed back to winter 2014. I thought it was it for the fall.
