@hitsusatsu11:

Haven't tried Date a Live yet. It's on my list of harem shows to try out. I did dropped High School DxD because it wasn't for me.

@sickVisionz:

I'm surprised you have Shonen Hollywood on your list. I attended the Crunchyroll panel. I haven't updated the Crunchyroll's Summer 2014 Simulcasts or the FUNimation's Summer 2014 Simulcast, but there massive news updates on Saturday.

From memory, Ao Haru Ride, Akame ga Kill, Glasslip, Shonen Hollywood is on Crunchyroll.

Tokyo Ghoul is on FUNimation. Crap, I can't remember FUNimation well. Have to look it up:

FUNimation's Summer 2014 Simulcast

Free! Eternal Summer
  • Start Date: Wednesday (7/2) at 11:30am ET

Plot:

The boys of summer are back! Haru, Makoto, Nagisa, Rei, and Rin are reunited for a second season in Free! Eternal Summer. After the last swimming meet, the bonds of friendship have only gotten stronger, and with each passing day these boys continue to grow. This season brings new rivals and new challenges. So get ready, the competition is about to get fierce!

Shonen Hollywood - Holly Stage For 49-
  • Start Date: Saturday (7/5) at 1:30pm ET

Plot:

These boys won’t stop till they make it to the top! Fifteen years ago, the legendary idol group Shonen Hollywood stole the hearts of thousands adoring fans. Their performance at the famous Hollywood Tokyo Theater is the stuff of legend, and now a new group of boys is determined to become the next generation of this famed super group. Ikuma, Kakeru, Shun, Kira, and Daiki will train day and night as they chase their dreams on the road to superstardom!

Tokyo Ghoul
  • Start Date: Thursday (7/3) at 12pm ET

Plot:

In modern day Tokyo, society lives in fear of Ghouls: mysterious creatures who look exactly like humans -- yet hunger insatiably for their flesh. None of this matters to Ken Kaneki, a bookish and ordinary young man, until a dark and violent encounter turns him into the first ever Ghoul-human half breed. Trapped between two worlds, Ken must survive the violent conflicts of warring Ghoul factions, while attempting to learn more about Ghoul society, his newfound powers, and the fine line between man and monster.

s

That's it? I'll update you once I get my things settled down.

@YotaruVegeta:

Inugami is a micro series. Sakura Trick was another one I forgot.

@takashichea: I'm generally into anything about people trying to make it in the music industry, whether it's Nana, Idolm@ster, Chance Pop Session, as long is there is some level of realism and struggle involved.

@sickVisionz:

Oh, I forgot your profession involves music. I'm sorry about that. Based on what I knew about you and your list of dropped shows and watched shows, I had an impression you watched slice of life shows and shows with top animation like Sakuga. I still remember your article you wrote. Plus, that's why I asked you about Shaft and Production I.G. I had assumptions you were into industries. You cleared my misconceptions about your tastes.

I would love to hear your take on the music industry and the connection to anime. My major was science based, so it wasn't very applicable and interesting to share. When I got into a cultural major, I had a fun time hearing folks' experiences with anime in different countries and cultures.

Are you hooked on Pop Idols and the industry? I did a short blog on a request from Kelleth on Japanese Idols & American Celebrities: Similarities & Differences. Oh shoot, you dropped a comment. I didn't replied. I'm so scatterbrain when I'm stressed and busy. Forget that question. I should get that memorized.

@Marshal Victory:

I feel like I'm watching less shows this season compared to the spring.

I got to watch this week:

Maybe, it has do with what kind of shows Crunchyroll and HULU has for their simulcast. I haven't seen Tokyo Ghoul on HULU yet. HULU is usually late with new anime from FUNimation.

@takashichea: Could be a slow roll out to. My list seems close to last season number wise but hardly seen much of it yet .

Hmm was gona post about Psycho-Pass New Edit Version but we have no # forum for it. So will just post here some observations. Each one is longer than the original episodes. So its more like 2 episodes in one around 48 minutes or so.

Illustration style has been upgraded or polished like they do for tv to anime movie. In some respects its great an others its bit blurry. An the order of the events are scrambled a touch with new scenes added.

So far would recommend this to those that saw the original as a primer for next season which starts in fall i believe. @takashichea: If ya got time in this season then this would be good one. An if it stays this quality on the new edition I will be forced to buy anothe copy of this anime!

@Marshal Victory:

We do have a forum. I thought we can reuse the Psycho-Pass Anime Discussion Thread like we did with SAO II and Hamatora. If you want a new one, I can make one up.

I hope the show has a legal simulcast. I'm bound by my little rule on watching shows legally. The only I broke it was for Knights of Sidonia because I wanted to watch it on Crunchyroll or HULU. Not much of a Netflix fan.

@takashichea: Ill use that link then. No real reason to add another thread . Just did not see a trailer link in the guide to the other thread. Early theme this season tho is polished older animation mark those words. It may not be the dominant theme but its there.

@takashichea: Eh it does feel like the season has less now. Or rather for me ones I want to watch are spread uneven over the week.

Dropped Momo Kyun Sword an DRAMAtical Murder So down to 15 shows an might have a few more to drop unless they pick up.

@Marshal Victory:

I felt I had more to watch in the spring than this summer. Mondays and Tuesdays are my dead days. Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat are pretty packed with shows I want to watch.

Edit:

Last revision, added RWBY 2.

Time to unpin this thread. Good bye Summer 2014! We might be able to do a Summer 2014 Roundtable.

It has been so busy this semester. I'll see if I can round up the old gang like last time.
