Wow at 1st i thought the character designs were touch simple. then i seen the cgi on the planes an big air ships .Gota say thats how to do cgi ! it doesnt break the art style at all.1st episode was not bad tho lacking world building.

But um .. Kal-el.... his name is Kal-el? Can you smell the lawsuit from here?

This show wasn't on my watch list. I just saw it on Crunchyroll's lineup, and I had nothing to watch on Mondays except for Sonico. After trying the first episode, it remind me of Valkyria Chronicles because the lines that war shows how the world is cruel. There was a bit of foreshadowing with Kal-el mentioning that their home was gone. Under this romantic series, lies a dark, brutal reality of war. I'm having a lot of expectations for this show since I'm into those type of shows.

@takashichea: Hmm i think its art style to of Valkyria Chronicles that this series reminds one of it.Really like the use of gci in it not as someting to stick out but to try an blend int.

2nd episode was good not alot of action but genraly you dont expect that in romance any way.But they played the heel card well .Fair amount of world build in just two episodes to.

@Marshal Victory:

Yup, this series is going to have some brutal moments. They didn't hint much at Kal-el's nobility. So, it's like Skies of Arcadia because you got these two characters who are like sister and brother, but they aren't blood related. Then, comes Claire (Fina). I smell love Triangle. I love the big guy who ruined all the suspense by cleaning up the rich snob.

@takashichea: 3rd pretty much went into depth on his back ground. An set up a good reason for him to beat the snot out of the bully nobel.

@Marshal Victory:

Agreed. I wonder how Kal-el is going to get revenge on Nina Viento after sneaking into the academy.

@takashichea: I wonder when Warner Brothers will sue over the name "Kal-el" . No way can the animation be released in the states with that name.

@Marshal Victory:

When I first saw that name, I was like what? I prefer calling him Karl instead of Kal-el.

@takashichea: yeah even here http://www.babynames.com/name/Kal-el

"The meaning of the name Kal-el is Invented Name

The origin of the name Kal-el is American

Notes: "Kryptonian" birth name of Superman in the comics and films. Resembles the Hebrew words קל-אל, which could be interpreted as "voice of God".

Read a coment to that one of the other names is from smallville tv show as well :/

@Marshal Victory:

Got caught up last night. They didn't give any hints for her identity or Karl's. They just dropped it for both nobility. I was about to create Nina Viento's page, but what do I do with Claire Cruz's wiki page. That's a big spoiler there. Put Nina Viento in the alias, and folks will wonder what...

Our prince charming has a revenge quest against Nina, but he doesn't know the girl he likes is his enemy. From Romeo and Juliet to some weird love hate thing.

Don't pay attention to my comments. Those love birds are going to have hell later on in this series. Hope Ignacio gets some spotlight.

@Marshal Victory:

This romance is twisted. The poor guy doesn't know Nina Viento, his enemy, is his beloved Claire.

@takashichea: 6 made things even more complex in a way. An do I spy death flags already? Sheesh hope not. Would be to predictable, an the show has been any thing but.

I posted in the wrong forum.

The title doesn't even try to hide it. I think Chiharu might die while my little sis says, Mitsuo. To get on happy stuff, Ari-men and Ignacio was pretty amusing.

7 used the death flags from 6 sigh. That was disapointing to say the least. But the rest of the episode was not bad. Now it seems the "barabrians" are not what they seem. An the good guys sure are not always good.

I hope my sister's guess didn't come true. @Marshal Victory: I agree with you. It was too predictable. He was a brilliant pilot (or a navigator). When it's predictable, you didn't get much sympathy from his death.

8 had all the death flags waving so much almost missed the good dog fighting animation. Shows not bad but the foreshadow of who is gona die is way to obvious.

@Marshal Victory:

I had high expectations for this series. With this episode, I lost faith in the series. I agree that predictable deaths takes away the enjoyment and the sympathy you will have. With the massive body count in episode 8, I'm not surprised or had any sympathy for any character. I only missed Wolfgang, he was unique.

For series like Attack on Titan, it is a bit surprise for me. The way they rubbed the death in the characters make you feel pissed. That's great. At least, you have some pathos. For Nobunaga the Fool, even though we had less time with two of the characters. Their deaths was surprising and a bit tragic. You had some emotions in you.

That's me personally. I find deaths in this show more shallow than Nobunaga the Fool and other series.
