@takashichea: Ok i see what they are doing . Its a sprial like story telling adding new characters conected to another new character. Yato is the main figure with the other 2 as suporting. Every one else revolves from them. See this more done in shonen tho.
Also 4 had a nice bit of background reveal. An a nice bit of something to think about . " It is harder to sever a bond than make one."
Finished episode 3, 4, and 5. I must have lost count. I'm not sure if I watched last week's recent episode. It was cool learning more about Yukine (I found out he and Alibaba share the same VA) and Yato. Yato was a war god who killed Regalias. I loved how the others view Yato as a bad role model. Yato has friends in benefit, an affair with the Goddess of poverty who is married, and 2 former Regalia girls.
Bit of this series remind of Bleach where innocent souls get possessed or eaten by bad spirits. I felt bad for the little girl. I'm looking forward to seeing the episode about the blonde woman who rode on a lion.
That's strange with the OVA. Like you said, OVAs usually come out when the anime ends. OVAs serve as teasers for fans who want more and another season.
Good news for fans of this season's Bones anime adaptation. Kodansha will be bringing over Adachitoka's Noragami: Stray God manga to North America.
@takashichea: Well like i said it was off in feel an tone. But with the same voice actors an not quite as good animation. Fear this will take after some other shows that OVAs end up ruining the second season. This story have enuff shonen like elements it could go on for while. But it has a main plot ( get the girls body/spirit fixed) that has become a sub plot at best. It has plenty of character development that the OVA just seems to take the cliff notes version.
8 has alot of build up. Also the builling part was really well done. Alot to like for me in this one. Even how Yattys girl friend threatens the other god of war. Animtion on this one to was good. Then again it could be just the same an im comparing it to the ova.
Can't believe her clothing is also a Regalia. The butler looks like Yukio from Blue Exorcist. Yukine reminds me of Alibaba, whiny. Took me a while to shield his voice. Can't blame him since he and Hiyori don't know Yato well. This episode connects his past well.
