@Marshal Victory:

This series remind me of Joujuu Senjin!! Mushibugyou when I first watched the first episode. The shadows have a floral pattern, and it's pretty colorful. Both series are pretty violent with killings of civilians by monsters.

This wasn't on my watch list, but I just saw this Crunchyroll, and I thought I give it a try. It's got me addicted.

Delightful contradictions

  • Why is Ghandi a fighter? Isn't he a pacifist? Since his reincarnation is interested in girls, that goes against Ghandi.

@takashichea: Hmm now that ya mention it sure does. Also the shadow paterns change so i figure thats a representation of their moods.

@Marshal Victory:

I got some snapshots for our readers.

I love the art style a lot in this show from the floral silhouette to the gothic like world. For anime series, I always try a show based on how appealing the poster or default image. Then, I watch it to see if it's enjoyable. That's how I got into Nagi no Asukara.

2 was pretty good.. but Dogoo!? Search on the name comes up with clay pots or aliens from a video game.Sounds like something you scrap off your shoe.Must mean something else.

Episode felt short. Ghandi's powers are a defense type while Newton's powers are gravity boots. The Evolutionary Invasion Objects (I butcher the name) remind of a pattern of how evil creatures evolve. The higher the level, the more humanoid it becomes. You see this with Hollows and Akuma.

I haven't seen this show yet but I heard this guy has a blade with the spirit of Jack the Ripper and that he's basically Raiden from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and someone else made this video.

Suddenly everything fits.

Few things in this show i like alot are. The lead females voice sounds right. As in age aproprate. The use of real world military vehicels an their names. An its silly over the top straight laced in taking it self seriously.

What i dont like is in episode 3 the stoped using the emtions in the shadows. That was a great stylised use of color to represent emotion.

4th episode was not bad. The invaders now remind me alot of http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tyranid

just not near as cool looking.

@Marshal Victory:

Since most known historical figures are male, it was nice they genderbend a few characters. I feel bad for Shio that those guys she befriended all died. I did enjoy Robert Capas giving them photos of her in swimsuits. I was staring at them because I think he made the chest too big. I sound like a pervert, but Shio's body wasn't that endowed.

Jack and Shio make a good tag team.

@takashichea: They label them not her real boobs - so yes they are not that big. I LOVE THIS SHOW. Just the right over the top nature, just the right amount of I care about the characters (I mean any anime nerd can relate to what she goes through). The fight scenes are incredible and the powers are ridiculous. I mean really SHE WAS RIDING THROUGH A HURRICANE ON A PARACHUTE!! Galileo is a cute loli girl (which is a little ridiculous) and when she uses her power she looks like a Dalek, and later we get even more crazy historical figures. (And unlike the other nobundga show - which I thought was going to be serious and say something about east west relations I am not insulted about how they are representing western historical figures). I'm sold as all heck on this show!

@zaldar:

Good to see you here. Yeah, I pretty much dismiss everything and watch the series for fun.

Post by zaldar (1,237 posts) See mini bio Level 15

@takashichea: and for this series that works as they didn't start out giving the idea that anything else was going on. I mean some character development with the protag sure but no one is going to watch this thinking they have some grand message they are trying to impart.

Episode 5 had the full return of the emotion shadows! As well as a rarely covered sport in anime..... Tongue Hockey!

Man just wow....both Gandhi and Newton want Oda and Galileo is jealous and...injured...

I have to say that was HILARIOUS! Now who were the new people we met and what were they historically? Didn't recognize any of them. But man exploding yourself and sending your brain to go away and become the next version with all your memories intact. Species memory to the 9th power. Impressive and would certainly allow for some directed evolution!

Didn't know Isaac Newton was into French Kissing. Poor girls got violated. The danger of the Evolutionary Invasion Objects is increasing. Can't wait to meet the rest of the cast.

Interesting, this episode didn't feature our heroine. She is sure popular with the guys even though she never met Cyx's group. I'm not sure who is Cyx and Gaude is supposed to. Geronimo is our famous Native American.
