To-Do List

Here's a list of things we want to do in the wiki, why not help cross some of them off? Also feel free to make suggestions.

  • Create character pages.
  • Add images and summaries to episode pages.

Important Pages

When editing the wiki (particularly episode and volume pages) it's helpful to use this section as a reference guide.

Locations
When adding locations, don't forget to add parent locations. For example, when adding Japan to an episode or volume, Earth should also be added. Locations appearing in flashback sequences generally don't count.

Recurring Pages: None so far

Objects
Objects should be specific rather than general, like Natsu's Scarf instead of just Scarf or Purgatory Armor instead of Plate Armor. General objects are being removed from the wiki.

Recurring Objects: None so far,

Common: Humans, Flashback, Fan Service,

Specific: Mushibugyo,

Weird, I never bump this thread.

Mushibugyo is a fun series. You can't take it seriously. Jinbei is your dumb, righteous hero who serves as a glue to the Mushibugyo group. The anime has a lot of fan service. I believe it has more than Fairy Tail but not the Fairy Tail OVAs.

@takashichea: Its almsot a parody of shonen at times. This series wil be on my to buy list.Really liked its animation style an silly story telling.1st season had the best open song tho.

@Marshal Victory:

Man, I thought I was the only fan, but I forgot about Sonata. I watched this show for almost a year. When it ended, I missed it a bit. Despite cliches, damsels in distress, fan service, and weekly Monster of the Week trope, it was a good show.

@takashichea: What do ya mean "dispite"! heck all that stuff made it fun for me :)

In some ways it felt like a older shonen samuri anime.Some on you tube were saying reminded them of InuYasha: The Final Act an i can sorta see some style similarities but thats about it.If you think about it its surprsing its not been done before monster godzilla like bugs vs samuri.Yeah i know it would be mothera sized bugs vs samuri but i cant spell mothera right probly .

@Marshal Victory:

I admit I enjoyed them, too. I haven't finish Inuyasha, and I haven't gotten around it. I always wonder who does Jinbei go after: Oharu or Insect Magistrate .

Post by Marshal Victory (1,955 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@takashichea: Its kinda unclear if i rember right. Oharu got way less screen time in the second season. Ieshige Tokugawa even got more screen time than her.An they hinted he kinda had a crush on Jinbee Tsukishima as well.Tho i really doubt Jinbee swings that way.Even Hibachi seemed to have a crush on him for a bit.

@Marshal Victory:

Oharu is just a damsel in distress who is there just for sex appeal. Insect Magistrate got the most character evolution. I do like Koikawa's story better than Tenma and Hibachi. I didn't understand Tenma's problems in that fight with that Sentai Insect guy.

It was a pretty simple and straight forward story, and in most way it was enjoyable.

@Marshal Victory:

My friend, we found more folks to discuss the anime or manga! Yeah, that's awesome.

@ownagepants:

Feel free to talk about anything. You can start anywhere.

@LHWKnight:

Didn't know you were a fan of this show. I should promote this battle thread that OwnagePants made, Shungiku Koikawa Vs Roronoa Zoro.

Post by Marshal Victory (1,955 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@LHWKnight: Well most shonen are fairly simple. Tho this did have some subplot complications . The magistrates secret etc.

@ownagepants: It had some great fights an intresting character designs. Good mix of Godzila sized bugs an samuri .

@takashichea: Have not looked into the manga is it any good? An how far past does it go compared to the anime?

@Marshal Victory:

I can't read it since it's not legally out in the US. I have a rule of conduct myself, only read manga in the US or watch anime that is simulcast. I can tell you that the manga for Mushibugyo was weird. There are 2 series.

  1. Mushibugyo - The first one ended, and I don't know why.
  2. Joujuu Senjin!! Mushibugyo - It's a remake. I heard the anime series is based on the 2nd manga series.

@Marshal Victory: what i am saying i didn't have any problems with it's story and execution.

One of the greatest scenes is when Tenma knocks one of the bug guys out of orbit .

Post by Marshal Victory (1,955 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@LHWKnight: Understand. Most shonene has a simple heroes journy main plot. I liked the illustration style of the show an animation grew on me. It moved at a nice pace overall to.

@ownagepants: I liked when the bug hunters were after the magistrate at the island. An Jinbei trandsforms for the 1st time.

@LHWKnight:

I wish I had time back then to upload episode screenshots for you since I already posted those shots in the above comments.Sorry about that, I feel bad on my end. Speaking of girls, Oharu and Mitsuki are tossed aside after we enter the Insect Magistrate's story arc. It was all about her and her development. Jinbee was more static and serves as her catalyst in her character growth. Oharu is just a damsel in distress with big boobs. I thought Jinbee and Oharu would hook up because both characters are pretty simple until Insect Magistrate came in. I like her the most with Hibachi being second.

I wish they reveal more of Mugai's past. I think I forgot this, but why did he side with Insect Magistrate and not Mushikari? Besides Oharu and other static characters, he was the most underdeveloped character who hasn't shown much. For Koikawa, Hibachi, and Tenma, they had a lot of spotlight, their own battles brought their issues to light.

@takashichea: Yeah I know right, Mitsuki should have been there during Kuroageha's arc, but I believe that Jinbe and Haru change her somewhat, and Kuroageha and Hibachi are also my top two girls. Oharu was just a damsel in distress, but for some reason, I always enjoyed her when she was on screen.

also during the Mitsuki fight, it was so freaking stupid, but at the same time, Haru and Jinbe made it absolutely hilarious and lmao.

I agree with you about Mugai's past as I also wanted to learn more about it, after that whole insect hunter fight. Mugai had been sent to assassinate Kuroageha but he was able to sympathies with her as they were going through similar problems both lonely. they had addressed that in the anime and it said that was his reasoning for choosing to serve her instead of kill her.

as for being underdeveloped, well I don't believe it was. throughout the series he believe his development was more based on him seeing Jinbe as more than just the weakest memeber of the group and starting to respect him in some regards. there could have been a lot more though I agree with that, but what we got was actually what I expected from a charracter like him and he gives me a Sesshomaru vibe.

Sesshomaru had chosen to save and protect Rin even though he hated humans and Mugai decided not to kill and chose serve and protect Kuroageha even through he hated incests and wanted to kill her for being one.
