Important Pages

When editing the wiki (particularly episode and volume pages) it's helpful to use this section as a reference guide.

Locations
When adding locations, don't forget to add parent locations. For example, when adding Japan to an episode or volume, Earth should also be added. Locations appearing in flashback sequences generally don't count.

Recurring Pages: ?

Objects
Objects should be specific rather than general, like Natsu's Scarf instead of just Scarf or Purgatory Armor instead of Plate Armor. General objects are being removed from the wiki.

  • Create character pages.
  • Add images and summaries to episode pages.

Episode summaries? Character pages? You've not looked at them have you?

@takashichea: I've been a bit behind on my Monogatari stuff. But I'm looking to get up to date soon. Only need to do 2 more.

The War on Geminar episodes are twice as long and a lot to write. Took a break from it. I'll get back to that soon.

@Supreme Marvel:

No worries. Take your time. I haven't even started on Mushibugyo summaries or characters. I got too many on my plate right now.

Now then about Monogatari. It was confusing when I made this discussion. I was looking for the 1st season of Monogatari and discover there are other series. I'm new to the series. Any recommendations? :)

@takashichea: You start with Bakemonogatari. That's the first released series. After that is Nisemonogatari. Then Nekomonogatari - which I believe Monogatari second series is the sequel to. Different places have different titles. More often it's just called Monogatari Second Series, other than Nekmonogatari Second Series.

I have to say, I've loved every episodes of each series. I love the characters so much. Love the world it's in. The animation I love. There isn't an aspect I don't love. I rank it so highly.

I saw this vid on Crunchyroll:

It's a pachinko promo.

That brought back memories of that last episode of Bakemonogatari; a specific scene which is godlike to me. Inspired me so much for my story.

As the Second Season of Shaft's anime adaptation of Nisio Isin's Monogatari modern fantasy light novel series prepares to launch into a four episode adaptation of Otorimonogatari, the seventh part of the Monogatari series, the tenth book overall, with the story Nadeko Medusa, there's a new, extended promo, showcasing the Kana Hanazawa voiced Nadeko Sengoku.

Marina Kawano sings the new end "Remembering That Voice."

@Supreme Marvel: Ever read any of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Gaiman works? This series at times reminds me of some of his stuff from sand man at times.Clever dialoge an stylish animation make this series something else.I like how the words in the background move the story as much as the animation at times.Almost would say this is the watchmen of anime.About as high praise as i can give with out sounding like a fanboy.

@Marshal Victory: You've just combined 2 of my favourite things. Gaiman and Monogatari. As a Brit myself. I hold Gaiman in high esteem. I you ever watched Doctor Who. He wrote a few episodes. One was called the Doctor's Wife. Season 6 episode 4. You can tell instantly it's his sort of thing. Has all your emotions going.

@Supreme Marvel: No i have not yet but really hope its on amazon prime tho .I have been a long time Doctor Who fan but Since the one whoes known as curls an teeth ( Tom Baker) has gone i lost intrest. That an it became hard for me to watch for years, no acess to a station that carried it.I even own a copy of the Dr.Who role playing game even.

Think Gaiman is suposed to do another one to.But i do have one of his rarer books angels & visitations. http://www.amazon.com/Angels-Visitations-Miscellany-Neil-Gaiman/dp/0963094424/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1384778418&sr=1-1&keywords=angels+and+visitations Highly recomend it .Worth it just for the poem about santa actualy.Been a few anime that remind me of his writing style. He does have a computer game up coming to i posted about it here http://www.animevice.com/profile/marshal_victory/neil-gaimans-wayward-manor-teaser/107-10981/

The art, animation, and writing of this show really make it hard to go back to other harems. There was a time I was really into the genre but now I'm not into it at all, but Monogatari is one I love. Makes me think it's less the genre and more the poor quality of content people make in it.

I know how you feel. It's made me go off harems because of the quality of its work. I guess it's dragged my standards up. The only other harem that stands next to it for me is the Tenchi Muyo stuff.

I rode this series enough in my Nisemonogatari write-ups but it really can't be stressed enough how much care seems to go into every frame. I don't know think I've seen anything that pushes it style in every facet as much as this series does. Maybe Redline but I think Monogatari may have that beat.

Watching this... it makes me feel like they're actually very few full adaptations out there. You take Harry Potter or something and it's quite literally just the scenes from the book acted out. They take scenes and characters and apply, "how would this look" and "how would this sound" and that's it. Monogatari isn't that.

Many things adapt a story to another medium but this is one of the only things I've ever seen that adapts the story but goes a step further and actually tries to adapt the writing style of the author into a visual style that permeates every aspect of the series.

Nisio Ishin's entire verbose and pun filled style of writing that comes off of ridiculously unnatural yet somehow perfectly natural is captured in Monogatari series. Not just the dialog. The visuals ooze verbosity and the same naturally unnatural ethos that his writing portrays. And not just the obvious things like mountains of text and other items on screen to achieve visual verbosity. I will forever love Araragi's insane Tardis town house that looks normal on the outside, normal in some rooms, yet has stained glass bathroom the size of a basketball court with nothing more than a tub in it, Tsukihi's room that has a full studio lighting set, or Karen's sprawling room with a like 2-4 flights of circular stairs leading to her bed. Wholly unnatural but it somehow fits in and comes off as natural for this world, even when compared against more natural elements. The sets these scenes take place in range from seemingly real world and possible to a completely fantastical take on real-life yet it all just works somehow.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when Nisio Ishin got shown the first episode or some snippets of Bakemonogatari. I wonder if they just sat him down blind and played it or if there was some talking like, "now we decided to take a different approach to this one..."

I remember noticing the lights in Tsukihi's room. Thought it was a breaking the fourth wall stunt. I enjoyed the bathroom scene. Especially show Shinobu entered the scene.
