I deleted your comment because there is 100 post count requirement for battle threads and it was off-topic.

For the manga, you'll like Magi for the following reasons:

  • Like Beelzebub (since you're a fan), it has fights and great mix of characters with lots of humor. Though, Magi has more fan service and more blood than Beezelbub.
  • If you like exploration, magic, and conflicts of slavery and a mess of dark, brutal stuff, you'll like Magi. Magi is more darker than Beelzebub.
  • If you like chibi and boobs, Magi is for you.

That's all I have. Just read the first chapter.

Chapter 211:

A World War is eminent in the Magi world, Truth about Fanalis revealed, and Sinbad's true colors reveal him to be well ... bad, anyway pretty crazy reveal IMO

I guess I bump this one. I was recording various manga discussion threads for Daniel's super giant thread. I'm not far ahead.

I read to the part where the story shows how Hakuryuu defeats his mother.

Spoilers!

Hakuryuu is like Cassim's case. He and Judar are foils to Alibaba and Aladdin, dark vs light. I love the story builds up to that moment of figurative imagery.

@taichokage:

Great to have you here. I'll be here, too. I'm trying to catch up to Toriko, magi, and Vinland Saga in my last days of winter break. Read more manga.

I'm also about 3 chapters behind in Vinland Saga. I caught up either late Summer or early Autumn last year but havent read most of the new releases since then. I think it was around the same time you did, maybe a month later.

Ok so lets see what everyone else thinks about the latest Magi issue 256. In this issue Aladdin states that Solomon could see the invisible vectors that every power flows through in their world. Due to that reason he could manipulate them. I personally perceive that as Solomon could manipulate ANY and ALL powers in his world to do anything he wanted. This would mean that Solomon is essentially unstoppable in his world. If he can redirect any attack then he is basically impossible to beat. Also given that Solomons Wisdom is omniscience that would mean he is all knowing and would know everything in his universe. This is all just my opinion though. What do you all think? I think I might make some more battle threads using Solomon as he seems like a much much much more powerful character then he is given credit for.

What I think is that EOS Aladdin will be very OP. I fell behind a while back (on purpose so that I could marathon it again) and am currently re-catching up, but I know some of the current events. Aladdin apparently picked Alibaba as the future King from the get go, but between him and Alibaba, it doesn't seem like Alibaba is as worthy as he is.

I think Alibaba has the heart? to be the real king. While everyone else is primarily concerned with protecting their own and expanding their own (even Sinbad) Alibaba seems to be the only one that actually cares about everyone equally. He is just too inexperienced to lead right now. I think that Alibaba will eventually get Ugo as a Djiin and that will make him the strongest King candidate. Are you up to the fight with the Medium? That is a really great arc. The artistry of the Djiin equips is amazing. Some of the most creative looking characters I've seen in a long time

Behind on Magi. Glad to see there is some balance and diversity in the powers. Bringing Solomon was a bit overkill.

I don't think Solomon is capable of more than bending space and re-directing attacks. Aladdin is the one who said that he has access to all the Rukh that presently exist, have ever existed and which shall ever exist. Which means Aladdin is the one who has access to all types of magic and powers in existence. That is supposed to be the core of his Solomon's Wisdom power. But as Judar said, he has yet to learn to find the specific powers he wants without being overwhelmed by the billions or rukh or magic at his disposal.

I would disagree with you there. Every time we see Alibaba all he is thinking about and talking about is Balbad. Everything he has done to this point has been to protect Balbad and nothing else. I think Sinbad has more of the heart of a king than Alibaba. Yes, he only thinks about Sindria, but he will protect anyone and everyone that needs him once Sindria is safe. Alibaba is waaaay too indecisive. He will basically follow anyone that promises to protect Balbad.
