We're starting up the Kill la Kill discussion early. Hope you chat with new fans of the series.

Will Kil La Kill outpower Gurren Lagann? Added KingofAsh's blog here.

@Acura_Max:

Found this one. It was unlisted, so searching for it was impossible unless someone else posted it online in an article.

@DocHaus:

Nice find! Be sure to upload in the gallery.

I don't know what to say about character designs. The girls look awesome, but the guys look goofy to me.

After watching the first episode, I can tell you all that it's worth every last drop of hype, down to the very last scrap of DNA!

I haven't watched the first episode yet. What's this show like? I know nothing about it other than there seems to be a schoolgirl in it and it's made by Studio Trigger.

@sickVisionz: It has a very fast paced story, and highly over the top action. From what I could tell so far its a tale of revenge as Ryuuko takes on a corrupt school to find her fathers killer.

I loved it so far kinda bummed the episode was over.XD

It started good. The animation was kinda goofy but I guess I'll have to get used to it.

I love the art and animation but I'm not really feeling this one. It was a bit too loud and goofy (gofy but not funny) to me, but more in a Guren Lagan way than a Panty & Stocking way. Like GL I think I'll be best served by just watching AMVs of this than actually watching the episodes. I'll give it up to episode 4 though.

I enjoyed the first episode. Like Sonata said, the pacing was fast. Ryuko is pretty much the Yoko Littner in the show. The animation is more goofier than Gurren Lagann's. Plus, Gurren Lagann had that awesome quote in its first episode, the dream, and that powerful imagery of the drill. I think Kill la Kill is more toned down and more suited in the comedy than action.

That was very refreshing after not watching anime for a few days. Animation was killer, and everything is over the top in a tongue-in-cheek way. Funny how the student council is the powerhouse, and the actual adult principal and teachers are powerless to what's going on. Come to think of it the whole "powerless/joke principal/teachers" is a fairly common trope. Well, all the teachers are powerless except perhaps the homeroom teacher who kicked Ryoko down that trap door and set her up with that power suit.

The anti-anarchy themes are cute. Haha, I guess Mako's little brother has good reason for ditching school if the student council is that bad. What a terrific institution for learning! Interested to see how Satsuki's character gets developed and the story behind the scissor. I'm kind of taking the whole power suit thing to be "typical anime", but the fact that Ryoko's suit demanded blood is interesting... and there was that little red thread that went into the suit after defeating the boxer, so maybe something cool and amazing will happen with that which goes beyond "typical anime"? o.O I'm pretty excited regardless!

Watched ep. 2. It was slow paced which I like. The first episode rushed a lot without explaining things. Ep. 2 provided a bit of exposition and more fan service.

The opening shows potential minor enemies for upcoming episodes

So far every episode ends with one of the bad guys stripped of their clothes.

From the bad guys in the OP that KingofAsh posted, I predict football, Water Polo, clowns?, and theater club.

I didn't like all the excessive fanservice, but it was still a great episode overall.
