Bump for LHWKnight. I will try the first episode since I try every pilot episode of all the anime series just to sample them.

Yo that was close, if he had not of realized that the so called death flag was actually a love flag in disguise, I think she would have been in a lot of trouble.

This show reminds me of Kotora-san and that one show where the main character had to make decisions based on select answers, similar to a Japanese visual novel. (Something chocolate)

looking forward to the second episode.

@takashichea: This was the series i mentioned to ya in the round table chat. Uses death flag trope as a story device.

@LHWKnight: Ya seen the 15 minute preview as well. They changed some things for the better. The blonde girl now does nto speek with thee an thy alot. An looks like they did a second pass on the animation bit more detail.But still has a simple ilustration style to the animation.

Pilot was good over all. For using a story hook trope an making it into a mechanic for the story was a neet idea. Its a cute anime lite comedy with the high school tropes. Probably will follow this one for its run. Mostly because Monday has so few anime for me. An watching something lite every so often is not a bad thing at all.

Background and synopsis:

Based off of a light novel of the same name written by Toka Takei and illustrated by Cuteg, Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara is about new transfer student Sota Hatate, who has the ability to see the future of those around him in the form of flags above their heads. However, instead of living by himself after transferring to the elite Hatagaya Academy, he somehow winds up under the same roof as a bevy of beautiful girls!

Voice actor Ryota Ohsaka, who also voices Eijun Sawamura in Ace of the Diamond, plays the main character Sota; Ai Kayano, also known her for role as Menma in Anohana, voices Akane Mahogasawa; and Ibuki Kido, Chinami Oka from Golden Time, stars as Nanami Knight Bladefield.

@Marshal Victory: My thoughts exactly.

Post by Marshal Victory (2,209 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@takashichea: This will go harem. But least the lead male is not dense.

@LHWKnight: Really glade they polished this a bit. It looks like it could be a fun series with a few twists.An man monday is baren for me 3 card kid animes back to back. Even Magi Bone has the card trope but at least it feels like old school shonen to me. Early trends this season is dragons an cards.

@takashichea: ITs lite fun. Nothing super heavy but its got a air of sucker punch to it some where. You tho will love Black Blulet thats gona be the seasons big show or should. This tho is lite fun an lite fun every now an again is not bad at all. Now i gota marathon Soul Eater before I start Soul Eater Not!

@Marshal Victory:

Just to warn you, Soul Eater has an anime exclusive ending and go off the manga storyline midway. It's like Fullmetal Alchemist's 1st season. Soul Eater Not takes place during Soul Eater's timeline. It was strange, but that's what I assumed after hearing key characters who were alive.

Post by Marshal Victory (2,209 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@takashichea: Yeah i got up to episode 42 or so last night an things and characters started to feel off.. So that warning is wellcomed. Ill just book mark soul eater not ti i get the 1st seris done.

In a way it ties into this series as the main character can see what i think is a persons soul an aura in that form of a flag. Not sure on the number of types he can see. Conquered, friednship an death are ones seen in the 1st episode. err an love flag forgot that.

Watched episode 1. It was strange that they dived into one of the love interests' past. Normally, harem shows reveal each girls' past or give them a special episode as a spotlight further into the series not the first episode. It was strange seeing that element. However, it was necessary for him to "conquer" her.

I don't think the series is for me. Reminds me of that one harem show I didn't like, The World God Only Knows.

Post by Marshal Victory (2,209 posts) See mini bio Level 13

2nd episode was not bad more lite comedy an the a mystery at the end.

@takashichea: never got threw to 2nd episode of The World God Only Knows but compairing 2 episodes to that one um its different for sure.This is lite comedy mixed with a mystery harem parody i think.

Post by LHWKnight (2,733 posts) See mini bio Level 12

The second episode was hilarious and all over the place, that mystery at the end was very interesting.

Also I think Meg is the kind of trap that was in Haganai, a girl who believes that she's a boy.

Also is it just me or is this just busty moe, every character in this show is moe except from that one character that was in the yellow shirt *Shiver*

THis is probably the third moe show that I got into, and I don't count Haruhi.

@Marshal Victory:

Well, by the end of 2nd episode. I'm good with the series. In the OP and ED, I was caught up in counting how many female love interests. Of all the new harem shows I watched in the past seasons, this one had the most. So far, we have three excluding Megu who I still think it's a girl.

Post by Marshal Victory (2,209 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@takashichea: So the ol " he thinks he is a boy but is a girl" trope eh? Haganai played that trope card well.

@Marshal Victory:

Unlike Haganai, I know that person is a girl for sure. This character Megu I'm not sure because of the face and androgynous body.

So after Amazon prime Air decided to drop a refrigerator size package, we learned that the oujo-san's (Rich girl) family (her father) sent her a chobit who is most likely going to fall for the main character like all of the girls lmao.

then we learned that the president got them into a mess were if Souta doesn't come out on top at the sports festival then he will be expelled.

When we are introduced to a girl with the classic man hater flag, who turns out to be the childhood friend.

again the way they realized this reminds me of hagani when Kodaka realized who Yozora was lmao.

I am still enjoying this anime to the fullest.

we get the conquered flag, the man hating flag and the yandere flag lmao
