Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders (ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken: Stardust Crusaders)

Producer: David Production
Type: Adaptation of Original Manga
Genres & Themes: Supernatural, Thriller, Action

Plot: The year is 1987 and 17-year-old Jotaro Kujo finds himself suddenly plagued by a ghost-like entity. Jotaro’s grandfather Joseph Joestar, a veteran of a fight to save humanity fifty years prior, arrives with his own supernatural aura and explains that this power, known as a “Stand,” physically manifests its user’s spirit and can be controlled by its user at will. The sudden emergence of these Stands is revealed to be caused by the revival of the megalomaniacal vampire DIO (the Joestar’s longtime enemy) whose awakening from his century-long slumber has triggered Stands to awaken down the Joestar family line, including in Jotaro’s mother whose uncontrollable Stand will ultimately kill her in a few weeks’ time. Jotaro, Joseph, and their allies have fifty days to locate DIO (using their Stands to thwart DIO’s network of devoted Stand-user minions along the way) and eliminate DIO himself in order to save Jotaro’s mother and prevent DIO’s ambitions of world domination.

The background music in those trailers is so damn boss. Also, the opening is going to be STAND PROUD by Jin Hashimoto, who apparently does some Kamen Rider themes. The ending is still unknown, but the first season's use of Roundabout by YES was kind of a secret (even though it was leaked) right up until airing. That's the thing that has me excited, did they license another classic rock song?

@phantomrant:

I know that a lot of these shows are region lock. Do what you can. It's part of the site to encourage legal access whenever possible. All that counts in the end is folks discussing their shows and promoting the discussion threads.

Had to edit your comment. The lines between legal streaming site and nonlegal streaming sites are blurring. Can't blame you if you confused one site for being legal.

On-topic:

The art style in Jojo's is pretty unique. Kind of old school gothic style.

Going strong so far, lets see if it surpasses the original SDC anime adaptation.

Damn girls, they are everywhere. This episode was pretty good, although Jotaro is a prick most of it, but then again fangirls are so annoying, but he didn't have to call his mom a b*tch just because she kissed him on the cheek. (Dammit Jotaro)

we get introduced to the first assassin in this episode, and I kid you not, his stands ability reminds me of another character from Medaka box that Kumagawa had to face in the last episode of the second season.

Dio is on the hunt for the Joestar family.

I swear that teacher also wanted to bone Jotaro, which I don't understand, why do pricks in anime get all the girls? (Goddammit anime)

And that speech about evil Jotaro did was seriously contradictory, when he said using the weak when all he does is walk all over those weaker than him. (Goddammit Jotaro.)

Then after he beats the assassin and carries him home, he brings up the fact that he noticed that his mother was a little pale, dude couldn't you have brought that up sooner.? (Goddammit Jotaro)

And we see that little flesh leech sticking out of the assassin's head and it ends.

this episode gets a 4/5.

Goddammit Jotaro

Opening is GODDAMN HYPE. Visuals are so good and the song is growing on me after repeated viewings.

Nisio is a confirmed JoJo fanboy. He even wrote one of the 25th anniversary JoJo light novels.

Also I think one of the early Stardust volumes had a character bio on Jotaro that mentions him thinking that everyone can tell his emotions just by looking at him, so he never bothers to be anything other than his usual self. So far, I think only his mom has that ability, lol.
