Bump for Marshall. I thought this series ended on episode 12. Looks like it is still going. I need to catch up.

The new Re: Hamatora pilot was not bad.

Few things of note. 1st the animation seems to be from a different group. More cgi an colors are turned down. Turned down to at times being washed out look. So from one extreme to another :/ 2nd thing the humor is the same. So yes not quite dirty but more adult than not. 3rd they use some kind of line art style as a star wipe from scene to scene. It is annoying when the scene changes every few minutes. Almost feels like a time a time filler. It is not Eye Catch for between commercials. Well fairly sure its not,but if it is its the worst ever.

2nd episode was good. But really really really hate their comic line star wipe thing tween scenes. But the rest is very solid an tied to the 1st season.

@Marshal Victory:

I'm on episode 5 or 6. It was about the artists and Birthday/Lone Wolf love last night. I forgot why I postponed this series. I have time. Thank god, I have no more summer school. I'll catch up to you.

@takashichea: Good man. Ya will find season 1 blends story wise seamlessly into season 2. For a anime based on a video game its pretty good.

@Marshal Victory:

Almost done with season 1. I didn't expect them to kill Art off. I see season 1 is developing its huge cast of characters while trying to tie to the main villain each episode. After the episode Art was killed, they did a Bitter Melon thing. I thought it was a filler episode. It was a bad way to for relieve tension for me.

@takashichea: Remember always the rules in comics apply in anime for the most part.

No body no death an even then in 9 months they can get better!

Episode 3 was pretty good. But what people are calling " the guitar walls" is the same line scene fade i was talking about, an hate. Well seems its not just me. Not sure who thought on their creative team that would be a good idea as a scene break. Its actually the only thing I really hate about the show. The guitar noise fade over it is starting to sound like nails on a chalk board to me.

Rest is pretty solid. Good world build with a decent animation style ( minus the guitar walls ). With happy go lucky crew an a story that seems deeper an connected to the 1st season.

edit

episode 4 confirms Three is my favorite character. An the scene change animation is so dam needless.

@Marshal Victory:

Shoot, I only had 2 more episodes from the first season to finish. Time flies when you're working so much. How far are we in this season, about episode 3 or 4. I should catch up soon.

Finally finish season 1. Didn't expect Art was alive. I feel like this is drawing parallels to Psycho Pass and maybe Joker/Batman.

season 2 episode 5 seemed to go by real fast. Pretty good over all. But really hate the scene change stuff they are doing this season. Tho its a testament to how good the rest is to sit threw the stuff I don't like.

@takashichea: Its a super hero show with out spandex. 1st season had the uber over think of society an power. Second season is as it seems to be about freedom. 2nd season picks right up after the 1st so if the 1st was good the second is as good. Tho that dam scene change an guitar is annoying as hell to me.

At times it reminds me of syfys Alphas tv series. At other times its a solid deconstruction of human nature. Writers of the anime an the video game should be more well known for this as its a pretty solid series.

Episode 2 explains how Art survive somewhat. Art is acting like Jesus and power thief by taking everyone's powers, their "sins." @Marshal Victory: Freedom, that sounds interesting.

Episode 4 delves in Honey and three's story. Never expected Honey's dad to be cold and sends his daughter to use power for assassination purposes. It was a good episode.

6 goes off the rails an suspends disbelief. For some one so smart to act so dumb its bad writing or a character flaw. That flaw we have seen over both seasons tho.

@takashichea: Would say this season is less burdened with explaining things an setting up the world. Its pretty solid show an seems not as well known.

@Marshal Victory:

I usually come home around 2-3PM. You always did get to watch the newest episode before me. I have to check out episode 6 after getting some stuff done.

The series does come off that way which is great.

7 was all about the instant replay. Much lighter tone episode than the last. Had a few lols in it to.

8 was darker than I expected after the light hearted 7. Way way darker in tone. An oddly enuff it reminds me of http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Cards-George-R-R-Martin-ebook/dp/B003P8OZ0U/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1409012284&sr=1-1&keywords=wild+cards which I need to re buy an finish the series. Seems their was another anime that had that same Wildcards vibe an it escapes me atm.

@Marshal Victory:

Forgot to watch Ep. 7 last week. Watching both of them. It was a sharp contrast like you mentioned. Ep. 7 was silly and over the top, but at the end, Art shows up, telling everyone it's plot time. Didn't know Hajime and Nice had a history back. I call possible love interest.
