Welcome to the Haganai discussion thread.
Come here to chat about the latest episodes, the characters, plot, or the series in general.

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Plot: Kodaka Hasegawa is a recent transfer student to St. Chronica's Academy, a Catholic high school. As with every other school he has ever attended, he finds it difficult to make friends there because of his naturally-blond hair and fierce-looking eyes, which make him look like a dangerous "yankee" to his prejudiced schoolmates. One day, Kodaka accidentally comes across the equally solitary and very abrasive Yozora Mikazuki while she converses with her imaginary friend Tomo. Realizing that neither of them have any social lives, they decide that the best way to improve their situation is to form a club: the Neighbor's Club precisely intended to make friends and learn social skills.

I haven't watched Haganai yet, but I found an awesome image for the spirit of Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentines Day

Oh, I'm collecting eyecatches. Here you go!

After looking at the character section (a lot of pretty girls and one guy), I got a harem vibe. Is this a harem, ?

Edit:

Oh, I didn't check the tags on the anime series. Yeah, it's a harem. Sorry Daniel for the stupid question.

@takashichea: You forgot to add these beauties. Warning, it gets kind of weird.

First off is the Sena Soup. Yes, you get to eat her. she is literally the meat of the meal.

Since the site won't let me upload a second set of pictures without mixing them in with the first set. I'll upload the fragrance pictures in my next post.

@Acura_Max:

Wow, just wow. Plus, she's spreading her legs.

I don't know how I missed it.

I typed Hanagai crazy in Google to find something cool, but I found this instead!

Well it's nice to see this discussion thread has kicked off, in one way or another. I hope there are plenty of people watching this show, the characters are beautifully animated (especially in season 2) and it's really funny. The last two or three episodes have been particularly good.

It is, but maybe not to the extent it appears. The two main girls seem to be the only ones who really like Kodaka, the others see him as a role model or a big brother... and Rika just wants to get in his pants. My point is that Haganai's not the kind of "typical harem" where all the girls openly chase after the guy and fight over him.

I'm pretty sure you'd love it. Here's the first episode if you're interested:

Wait, what? You don't really mean that literally do you? Surely that's just a Sena figure sitting in a bowl of soup, right?

Just in case you're missing the joke here; Yozora calls Sena "meat" all the time, it's become a nickname.

@Daniel_Newton: Oh that makes sense. The article said that this is a Sena "Meat" Soup and I just assumed that meat was in quotes because it was not exactly meat.

Hey, did you say you're watching this series? (I think you did) If so you need to catch up, shit has been getting REAL in the last couple of episodes, it's awesome. I can't tell how it's going to end and I'm not even sure how I want it to end.

@Daniel_Newton:

Yozora: Kodaka, you do remember
Yozora: Kodaka, you do remember

I'm up to episode 5 of the first series. So far, I'm not really digging it. Only episode 3 was interesting where I get to see how Yozora and Kodaka met in the past.

I'll catch up next week due to school.

@takashichea: Really? I guess the pace is a little slow. From what I remember the first three or four episodes are a bit sluggish, but it should start to pick up when the other characters join the club. Oh, and pretty much everything Rika says is hilarious.

If season 1 doesn't do much for you maybe you'll enjoy season 2 more, it's definitely more manic. It's made me laugh every week without fail so far, and thankfully it looks like it's the kind of harem series with consequences, instead of the typical harem where nothing is resolved or achieved by the end.

@takashichea: Oh! Have you met Sena's dad yet? I can't believe I forgot about him, he's awesome.

@Daniel_Newton:

I got to episode 9. Yeah, he's a crazy dad. Don't call him Pegasus... Something's wrong with Estella. I thought she was Sena's mother.

I haven't made much progress due to much wiki and school work. I just finished episode 10 from the first season. I remember you and a dude named Paranerd (I have no idea who is this) replied to my Tweet about Haganai Next.

You wanted Rika while Paranerd wanted more Sena. I replied Yozora because it was the first name I thought for this show. Well, looking at the past 10 episodes. I take it back now. She's crazy (only towards Sena). I don't have a favorite character in this show. Not really attached to any of the girls.

Yeah, doing some seasoning Meat on the beach.

Out of the slice of life shows I watched this semester, I enjoyed Pet Girl of Sakurasou more than Haganai and Tamako Market due its story, characters, and the drama.

You know me, my preferences are more shonen and comedy shows. This show is my 5th slice of life show I watched. (Sket Dance, Tari Tari, Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Tamako Market, and Haganai. Don't know if Angel Beats counted.)

1st season of this was fairly soild but a bit slow.The animation was great an when it went for the laughs it had built up enuff for them.The 2nd season felt almsot like they tired to hard .Something was just a bit off.Tho it was very watchable.

is this so bad...

that fans of the anime are pretending its not real?

@Marshal Victory:

I finished the first season, and I realize this series isn't for me. Haganai was boring. Some episodes are just them playing games. I'm not fan of slice of life shows, but there are some that pull me in. I think romantic or comedic slice of life shows are for me not harem ones. I was going thru my list of slice of life shows I watched: Tari Tari, Sket Dance, Silver Spoon, Nagi no Asukara, and Pet Girl of Sakurasou.

I heard 2nd season focused on the side characters: Rika and the maid who has gender identity issues.

As for the live adaptation, I don't know what to say.

@takashichea: Thought ya was watching Golden Time to? Its slice of life i would think.

Also you may just like the second season more than the 1st considering wht you didnt like in the 1st.Its a faster pace. They shifted gears tho personaly i liked the slow build in the 1st season.Its video game an anime refeences.Then again having people asume what you are by what your hair is i can relate to as well.So that my be the hook thats kept me liking the show.

@Marshal Victory:
