To-Do List

Here's a list of things we want to do in the wiki, why not help cross some of them off? Also feel free to make suggestions.

  • Create character pages.
  • Add images and summaries to episode pages.

Important Pages

When editing the wiki (particularly episode and volume pages) it's helpful to use this section as a reference guide.

Locations
When adding locations, don't forget to add parent locations. For example, when adding Japan to an episode or volume, Earth should also be added. Locations appearing in flashback sequences generally don't count.

Recurring Pages: Demon World

Objects
Objects should be specific rather than general, like Natsu's Scarf instead of just Scarf or Purgatory Armor instead of Plate Armor. General objects are being removed from the wiki.

Recurring Objects: ?

Concepts

Common: Humans, Flashback, Unreal Hair/Eye Color, Simulcast, Vampires, Werewolves, Ghost

Specific: ?

Forgot to start the discussion here, but here I go.

I couldn't believe the anime is only 10 episodes. It's pretty short. Lots of fan service, mainly boobs, than blood. I love the characters. Wish Wolf got more spotlight. It's a shonen show. Most shonen shows develop their supporting characters. It seems that Bell had more development than Wolf.

I need to catch up on the series along with Free! as well.

@takashichea: You read the manga?

This was back then when discussion threads were in the prototype stage, and we didn't have a lot of people who knew about these threads.

@waezi2:

I haven't read the manga yet. I only watched the anime. It was pretty short. The series was a lot fun to watch.

@takashichea: Indeed it was. Do you have a favorite episode?

And I would also recommend the manga.

@waezi2:

Any key differences between the manga and anime?

Post by taichokage (14,838 posts) See mini bio Level 20
I haven't read the part of the manga that the anime covered, but there seems to be very little difference as far as censorship goes. My favorite episode would have to be Staz vs Akimu.

@takashichea: None that I can think of, besides the anime was a tidy bit abridged compared to the manga. For example: the boxing mach between Staz and Wolf was one round long, but it in the manga, it was two rounds. Also, a detail or two in Staz duel against Bell from the manga was not there in the anime. But besides that, it was pretty faithful to the manga. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure.

Good enough answer?

@taichokage: @takashichea: @Sonata: Does Braz love his siblings?

Actually, there is a tiny bit censorship with Beros, who use "the finger" a awful lot in the manga. Liked the episode too.

Of course he loves them. He doesn't express like most tough men. Thanks for clarifying the differences.

Does anyone know if the anime is going to be translated?

It's just that he kinda use Staz as his guinea pig, and wrote to Nyen that Staz would drink Fuyumi's blood that made me unsure, but I suppose you are right. He loves them, but he is just... Braz. And you are welcome.

@waezi2:

He did those horrible things to Staz because I remember if it wasn't for those experiments, he would have gotten stronger or his body couldn't handle his own strength. The anime was translated. Unless you want a 2nd season. There is not much info or enough hype from fans to demand a 2nd season.

@takashichea: It was translated? Can I get it on DVD?

Yes, Braz saved Staz's life, but that was AFTER he made his powers evolve, and therefor created the problem.

@waezi2:

Oh my bad. Not yet. Blood Lad is announced to be release this year in English Dub for DVD and Blu-Ray Release.

Viz Media's dubbed anime streaming service Neon Alley confirmed in response to a Twitter question on Thursday that the Blood Lad anime is currently being dubbed in English. Neon Alley also announced that the 10-episode television series' dub will stream for at least one month.

Viz Media announced its license of Blood Lad last July, when the series premiered. The distributor has been streaming English-subtitled episodes on its website and on Hulu. Viz Media's license includes home media, download-to-own, and streaming rights.

Neon Alley, which was previously available for PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 with a monthly subscription fee, transitioned to a free, ad-supported service affiliated with Hulu and Hulu Plus on April 1. The service transitioned from a linear live stream schedule to video-on-demand, and will add subtitled anime from Viz's catalog, including simulcasts. The service is available on all devices that support Hulu Plus. The service also became available online for PCs and Macs last July.

The Blood Lad dark comedy anime adapts Yūki Kodama's manga that follows a vampire named Staz who has his figurative heart stolen by Fuyumi, a human high school girl who suddenly appears in his world. Unfortunately, she is just as suddenly killed, and thus she becomes a ghost. Staz tries to bring Fuyumi back to life.

Joining Ryota Ohsaka (Valvrave the Liberator, The Devil is a Part-Timer!) in the cast is Iori Nomizu (Is This a Zombie?, Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they?) as Fuyumi Yanagi, Takuma Terashima (The IDOLM@STER, Kokoro Connect) as Wolf, Chiwa Saito (Rosario + Vampire Capu2, Bakemonogatari) as Mamejirō, Ryohei Kimura (Valvrave the Liberator, Neo Angelique) as Blood D. Bloods, Taichi Komesu as Deck, Yuuka Nanri (Wandering Son, Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they? ) as Blood T. Liz, Kazutomi Yamamoto (Majestic Prince, Makai Ōji: Devils and Realist) as Mimic Yoshida, and Koji Yusa (Zettai Karen Children, Valvrave the Liberator) as Papladon Achim.

Shigeyuki Miya (Lupin III: Green vs Red, Buzzer Beater) directed the anime at Brains Base from scripts by Takeshi Konuta (Library War, Toshokan Sensō: Kakumei no Tsubasa), and Kenji Fujisaki (chief animation director on Battle Girls - Time Paradox) created character designs. May'n (Macross Frontier) sings the anime's "ViViD" opening theme, while Yuuka Nanri (.hack//Roots) performs the ending theme "BLOODY HOLIC."

Viz Media plans to release the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD this year.

@takashichea: @AgentFakku: @taichokage: @Sonata:

Do you think that Fuyumi will actually become human again, or that she will become a powerful demon?

Post by AgentFakku (342 posts) See mini bio Level 10

@waezi2:

If she be human, Staz would bang her.

Anything about the series you dont like?

@waezi2:

Sorry, I missed your question. I don't think she's the type to become a demon. For the second one, I don't remember what I hated about the series. It was more of what I wanted to see if this series were to continue.
