@takashichea said:@rubberluffy:Since I haven't read the manga past volume 3, does Dr. Jaeger or any of Mikasa's past had shown up. There could be a possibility when I read your comment on that W&L article. I forgot about that guy.

It's speculation on my part, based on her almost superhuman strength coupled with the doctor testing stuff on his own son, and visiting that specific family. Dude clearly knows more than he let on.

I've got some problems with the pacing of 9 and 10, because they both feel like they drag on. Kind of a holdover from the manga chapters, though. They could have easily fit both episodes into about 1 1/2 and started up the efforts to retake Trost in the remaining time.

edit: okay some people across the internets are ragging on this episode -really- hard, and it's difficult to not feel defensive about a series I love, but my hopes for the anime feel considerably lowered after 9+10, not to mention 14 is gonna be a recap episode. I really hope Wit can get out of this hole they're in, both pacing-wise and budget-wise. I never watched more than 7 episodes of Death Note, and I never even bothered with Guilty Crown, so I have no idea what expectations I should place on director Araki with Titan.

@rubberluffy: I'm hoping that's because you already read the manga for Death Note, otherwise you would be missing out by not watching Death Note in its entirety.

Episode 9 and 10 was nice. I'm glad they're introducing some new characters from the Survey Corps, good contrast with the trainees we've gotten used to seeing so far. Hmm yeah that whole negotiation scene in 10 did feel really long. It felt kind of arbitrary when Eren was like "Armin.. I'll let you decide", but I think it paid off with Armin's speech... It almost made me cry, good job on the voice actress for that part. I'm glad they included the bit with Eren, his father and the key, gives us something to wonder about. What secrets could his father possibly have hidden?

I had a flashback of Deadman Wonderland when Eren bit his finger and used his blood to create that skeleton/Titan. Both anime deal with similar themes I suppose.

I've watched the first two DN live-action movies, didn't really care for them, but also didn't like what I read of the manga/watched of the anime. Not for me.

10 was really drawn out. I think it was only 40 pages adapted, so probably just under a whole chapter. 1.5 chapters:1 episode seems to be the the ideal pace for a monthly manga anime adaptation. Doesn't help that it's mostly words words words and not really an interesting chapter in the first place. Really, 9 and 10 should have been compressed to about 1 and a 1/4-to-1/2 episodes.

@rubberluffy: So you didn't read the manga first and you started by watching the live-action movies? Well maybe that was the problem, the live action movies were shit. I can't imagine how badly that must've soiled your experience of the story.

And yeah I did read your post -.-, I agree ep 10 was pretty drawn out. I'm still excited to watch the story unfold. The animation and sound continues to be strong and the story has enough threads being weaved around to keep it interesting.

@AURON570:

I watched some of the anime and read some of the manga first, actually. I just don't like it. It's essentially Hot Topic The Anime I'm just kidding...maybe? :P

I'm glad that Hunter x Hunter had two really good episodes to counter my feelings regarding Titan 9&10. Hopefully Titan gets back in form for the re-taking of Trost, so I can have my hour of awesome shounen saturday nights again. And I hope JoJo comes back when Titan finishes up.

@rubberluffy:

Yeah, I agree with you on episode 10. Not much happened. I do see they're doing a recap episode instead of a filler to stall the series.

Check out this fan art I found on Crunchyroll!

Note: There is a Fire Emblem Awakening character hidden in this picture above.

People have gone from proclaiming this the best anime in years to acting like it beat the shit out of their dog, all in the span of 3 episodes. Overreaction city, population: a lot.

Hmm, the ending of episode 11 was pretty surprising. (I didn't see it coming)

So glad, I have avoided spoilers

I admit it has slowed down some the last few episodes, but after the ending to ep 11 looks like i will pick back up again.

@takashichea: That pic is fantastic:)

After already reading up to the end of the next episode, when watching the last episode I was thinking they could of merged 3/4 episodes into 2.

However looking forward to the animé being up to date with me. Then I'll go into watching the animé then reading that version of the manga

Ep. 11 drags a bit, but it had a surprising ending. I knew Eren couldn't really control his Titan powers. Everyone has doubts about him. Plus, Eren has anger management issues.

Eren is essentially Bruce Banner now. Complete with transformation.

@rubberluffy:

LOL. Mikasa is our Betty Ross. Though, Eren has some domestic issues with her. Poor Mikasa just wants to be with Eren, but Eren doesn't want her to treat him like a lil bro.

@takashichea:

There's a scene in the newest manga chapter where Eren tries to control his temper in hopes of getting some information. It lasts for a grand total of like 1 page.

Seriously! The cliffhanger for this part in the manga was about 2 minutes away from the cliffhanger in the animé. I think the reason why they're stretching it out because they wanna do a second season. So the manga can get far ahead.
