Wow, this show is pretty dark. Really need something that would cheer me up now

Also, why do people still act like jerks when mankind is near extinction

People born in "safety", coupled with probably always staying in the inner two walls and never seeing a Titan can create people without any perspective. Pretty simple. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people really far in who don't even believe titans exist, but don't really care because their day-to-day lives have no trouble. No matter the crisis, you can't expect 100% of people to be honest and altruistic.

Okay, anyone who has read the manga, tell me if Eren is actually dead in a PM. People might not fight the urge, if a spoiler box was up. I keep thinking he could be alive.

Just in case people missed it.

I'm a wiki addict. I love it when I'm reading the manga chapter to compare to the episode, I find something cool I missed like these items.

I wrote these on the episode 6 wiki page. It's another job well done.

I welcome any help on the Attack on Titan wiki project.

Altercations

In the manga, Mikasa's mother tattoos or carves the numbers 844 on to Mikasa's arm. Compared to the anime, Mikasa's mother and Mikasa are knitting.

Censorship

The manga vividly reveals Franz's dismembered torso.

The Mikasa/Mother arm change is kinda weird.

Second half of episode 7 was intense as fuck. I'm pretty darn pleased. But early comments on various forums show that some people are gonna be, or already are, really pissed.

**Up to episode 7 - spoilers** This show is pretty kick ass so far. I've gotta say, I've never seen a bad show that starts off with seemingly major character death (Book of Bantorra, Darker than Black).

I haven't read any spoilers yet, but I think I know what the twist going to be. (the anime pretty much spoil it self LOL!) I thinking of buying the Attack On Titan manga, when the show is over

I enjoying the fight scene and also Mikasa is pretty awesome

Can't wait for next week (wish I can see it)

I need to catch back up with this show I loved the first ep.

@takashichea: You're not using "altercation" right on that wiki page. The words you're looking for are alteration, changes or differences, but that's kind of redundant because you already have the heading saying "Manga and Anime Differences".

Episode 6 was pretty easy to watch. LOL so the REAL protagonist finally reveals himself... herself. Heck this could even turn into a trope if it's handled correctly. Making a character seem like the protagonist for the first few episodes, then killing him/her and shifting the focus to another character. Interesting how the only person they have shown in the series so far actually taking down Titans is Mikasa, so much for Eren's big talk. It was also interesting that during the flashback with Mikasa's family, Mikasa asked about how humans reproduce, since we don't know how the Titans reproduce... yet ;) The parallels between Mikasa's family dying and Eren's family dying were nice. Now all we need is to learn about Armin's family. :P

EDIT:

Well someone just gave me a guest pass so I went ahead and watched Episode 7 of Attack on Titan, and here are my thoughts:

Oh man that Titan at the end was ridiculous. So it looks like MAYBE the Titans are sapient enough that there are disagreements between the Titans about their relations with humans? The animation in the series continues to be really great (snow, blood, gore, mechanical web-swinging). All that talk about being a good leader, so far there haven’t really been any great examples of good leaders. I think this is partly because it can be reduced to the decision to fight or flee. On the one hand you have people going “oh it’s no use, let’s retreat so we can survive a little longer. On the other hand you have people like Eren who want to make a stand no matter what. And then there are fence-sitters or bystanders. However Mikasa’s urge to retake the tower was a good start, I’m interested to see how that plan goes. We need people who can think on their feet and be ready for worst case scenarios! Following orders is only one part of being a good soldier and sometimes the mission changes and old orders no longer matter! xD

@AURON570:

Oh, dang. I have been using that word, "altercation," a lot of times in my episode summaries in the past.

Thanks man. I have to fix this one and the other pages.

Crazy thought this morning.

Maybe this new monster is a former character? :)

A good Titan?
A good Titan?

Episode 7 was great. Love Mikasa's inspirational speech followed by Sasha's adorable way of insulting the other soldiers.

I was confused at a Titan who just saved Mikasa.

Mikasa: "I am strong! Stronger than you guys. Very strong. Therefore, I can defeat those Titans! Even on my own. You are not only weak, but you are spineless cowards. I am disappointed in you. Just stay here... Stay here and watch."

Episode 8

I enjoyed this but it just delivered it's first descent into madness moment with Erin spawning out of a Titan's back. Maybe they will pull it off well but anime has a tendency to go bad shit stupid for no good reason. Evangelion did it, but they waited until most of the series was over before revealing that it wasn't aliens attacking Earth (that's way to simple), it's actually failed evolutions of mankind coming to attack the zombified souls of 3 people's mothers that have been placed in other failed evolution...

no no. I hope Titan went the complex route for a good purpose and not just to live up to the long lineage of anime going to stupid places for no good reason.

I saw that coming a mile away, kind of wish they didn't show Eren's father in that dream. But I still like what happen

Wish Eren Titan have kept that awesome beard

Armin's strategy in the works
Armin's strategy in the works

Finished Ep. 8 wiki page and its summary. I haven't done its anime/manga differences yet.

For the discussion, I was somewhat surprised, but the green eyes and the way it kills Thomas's killer gave it away. The episode still shows that you can be powerless against a Titan and lose the will to fight. Poor Sasha, she almost got eaten. I like how Armin took charge and came up with the strategy.
