Pilot was good. Real good illustration style an animation was crisp an clean. World build was pretty fast but not to simple. Tho this seems familiar with some other student mech shows it has its own flavor at least. Who knew Martians were A-holes?

At this point tho would almost bet the Knights assassinated her tho. An kinda believe she did not die in the last boom.

I felt the same as you. Good solid pilot.

For me, I don't think she was in the car in the first place.

Kinda ballsy how they killed off a main character in the first episode, but considering how the space-nobles were talking I saw it coming a mile away.

"Wow hey you know what would be great? If the Princess died on Earth and I could use her death to finally invade the Earth! Not that I've secretly sent some men down ahead of time to make sure that happens or anything...just thinking out loud."

Gundam Seed and Gargantia? "Oh you're on the fence about this whole Mars vs. Earth thing? BAM cute girl dead, do you care now? Of course you do! Keep watching to find out what happens next."

Thanks.. And of course civilians suffer thanks to the screw ups and decisions of people in power. Iduno, it seems pretty cookie cutter so far. I slightly high hopes for this since it's from Gen Urobochi (Psycho-Pass, Madoka), but I'm starting to think his only good story was Psycho-Pass, but even with Psycho-Pass near the end, like with Madoka, it's like he was feeling himself too hard with the story, going on long pseudo-philosophic rants.

2nd episode was solid. Good amount of tension an action. Bit predictable tho. Death flags were to easy to spot for me :/ But it was enjoyable none the less.

@Supreme Marvel: Till ya see episode 2 don't read the spoiler bit here.

Hey looks like we was both right. Tho 2 was predictable it still was a good ride.

@AURON570: To be fair civilians always suffer when because of poor thinking from people in power tho. Positions of power does not make one wise, honest or smart. But so far the earth side really is not at fault. An the "Martians" gained a huge amount of power an a royal attitude to to match it seems.

An Psycho-Pass is my favorite of his works. There is a similar spark here about power like from Psycho-Pass. Power all in one place is not a good thing. Or at least thats what it apeers to me at 1st glance. Also Gen Urobochi is credited as creator of this but not as a writer or that their are other writers even.

If can give it 2 more episodes to try an win ya over. The 2nd episode I thought was pretty solid.

Them bots are powerful! Looking forward to the retaliation. The rich can suck it!

3 was good. But it reminded me of this movie...

" Not bad for a bunch of kids huh?" This feels like a anime version of that.

I think the animation to this show is superb. I think I like it most so far from the new bunch.

I like this show, definitely worth watching IMO. But it hasn't really stood out to me too much. I'm gonna keep watching it but I hope it gets better. It'll have to in order to keep up with the other anime.

4 was solid. But were getting the David vs Goliath tale with a mech ace thrown in? So far its been a great ride . Quality threw out. No dull or flat spots. But its early yet an can it keep this pace up?

Post by Supreme Marvel (5,176 posts) See mini bio Level 12

Still think it's the best of the new bunch. They have layered their characters and building on them already. Great stuff.

Finished episode 3. Inaho is pretty smart. It's nice to see a victory in mech genre not come luck and pure brute force in the face of near unstoppable foes.

seems Inaho well face all the clans by himself

Finished episode 4. Now, I'm caught up. Yay racism topics in my Gen Urobuchi anime. In Gargantia, it's more about fish out of water than mech. For Fate/Zero, it's a tragic tale of an assassin.

Episode 5 was pretty good.

The part about plasma an water is fairly spot on. Used to use a plasma cutter in vocation auto body school. slightest bit of mousture in the air line an pop goes the ceramic tip. Then they were 100 bucks per. So quickly learned tho neat it was not practical.

@takashichea: Eh think its more A-hole-ism than any thing else. Note how different some of the racial backgrounds are of the knights. Also its nice to see something royal in anime not be slanted as good a good thing. As a general thing royal = noble more often than not.

@Marshal Victory:

I forgot Saturdays are Aldnoah.Zero, One Piece, Irregular Magic, and SAO II days. I usually watch at night after all that work.

On the royal A-hole-ism, you got Earthlings vs Martians. That's the racism I was referring. Maybe, planetism (if there's a word).
