Might try this one to

I've read the manga. While I was a bit lukewarm to it to start with, I thought it picked up after a while and I've been rather enjoying it lately.

@Oglaphone:

I probably check out the manga after the anime or read the manga side by side if I get interested enough to start a wiki project on this.

The manga is...not for the faint of heart. Several characters get dismembered in very gory ways because the writer/artist feels the need to explicitly remind you that everyone is a real bastard in his world. Some of the later chapters took it way too far to the point where I'm reluctant to read any further.

I'm predicting the anime will be censored so heavily as to be almost incomprehensible or just plain bad when the limits of the writing become quickly apparent. Maybe both.

If it's like Btooom, I can take it. If it's like Gantz, Pupa, or Deadman Wonderland's bloody violence, I might have to reconsider watching it. Thanks for the warning, DocHaus.

The mutilation is like..... Elfen Lied level. And some of the murder scenes (one in particular) are just outright forced and unable to be stomached by your casual manga reader. Just choose your favorite character and hope he or she dies in a badass/honorable way.

@phantomrant:

When July comes, I'll give it a go. I still haven't seen Elfen Lied. Seeing how Brynhildr in the Darkness was also from the same author, I got a good impression of the violence.

New preview, showing clips from the series

@Oglaphone:

Thanks for the clip. Shows more of the action, the characters, and the gore that everyone was talking about. I'll add it to the OP.

I was nervous about this because I thought the first episode would blow hurricanes, but it didn't! I'm fully interested now. I'll try not to get any feels for anyone, though...

Not sure what to feel for this one at the moment. The brutally surprise twist with the mansion owner was a solid twist and the premise with Night Raid has potential. However, the milking of shonen goofiness such as a number of bits with Tatsumi in the episode have potential to derail the series if it gets too dependent on it in a poor attempt at lightening the show's rather dark mood. For now though, I'll be watching it.

This first episode for me was very interesting.

Tatsumi is my type of MC, carefree and able to kill without hesitation.

Violence and Gore is my live blood. and the goofiness is light padding.

So I am looking forward to the next episode.

Pilot was fairly good. Gorey , fast paced ,chibi lite but reminded me of Magi early stuff. So far other sites have been mostly liking the gore an the chibi. One to watch alota twists for a pilot. Seemed like it went by so fast to. May have to re-watch.

AgK is a super dumb manga, so it will be a super dumb anime. Doesn't stop it from being entertaining as hell, though, you just gotta go along with it. It really doesn't give any fucks.

Pilot was pretty good. I knew he was naive, but his friends were naive and unlucky. I had a gut feeling they died, yet I didn't know they were tortured and killed by the rich family. There were some weird moments in tense scenes which bug me a bit.

@takashichea: Take it one weird moment would be the mansion owner's hammy and over-the-top admission of relishing in the torture her family inflicted on country folk?

I rewatched bits of the second half again and started to notice that this baby may get as overblown as titles like Deadman Wonderland and Future Diary in getting over-the-top and relishing in its violent and depraved content with its events, if what I've heard of its source material are true.

@Dream:

Yeah, I agree it has the Deadman Wonderland vibe, too. Although Deadman Wonderland doesn't muck up his serious and tense moments with Manga Iconography if memory serves me right. The pilot did pretty well. I didn't notice the foreshadowing when the rich daughter said to him, I'm sure you meet them soon. I didn't pick it up.

I think my favourite scene was actually the BD advertisement after the episode. That cracked me up, just a pity I don't think it'll make it into anyone's subs of the episode.

I just watched it. I look at the show's poster. What I see in that is not what I thought the show was going to be. I was expecting a dark and moody show. Which is kind of what I wanted. I think that in itself was the biggest twist for me. I think I'll watch it until it'll annoy me.
