I was half right. I've always pronounced Takashichea like the character Kakashi from Naruto. With the days of instant internet announcements I have very little desire to be around large crowds of people - especially not in really hot areas.
Thanks to Tom and Sam for inviting me on the Vice Pit! It means a lot. Plus, it shows folks you can hang out and meet the staff who run this beautiful site. Anime Vice has come a long way. I was glad to be part of the journey in making this site better and working with folks who love anime and manga. I never met much folks in person who enjoy the medium. Anime Vice was the site I grew and love. Meeting the staff in person and hanging out while seeing new folks at Anime Expo makes the experience surreal and awesome.
I didn't prepare in time when I was invited to the Vice Pit. I wanted to clear some things. I use both HULU and Crunchyroll. There's no perfect simulcast site. The reason is that their apps was on PS3, and I loved watching anime on TV.
It was always weird to watch yourself on video if you're not used to it.
I counted so many uhs from me. I wish I spoke louder because I realized I was too quiet and hard to hear.
I was never a strong public speaker. Also, I was a bit camera shy and nervous. When I was asked by Sam and Tom to join them in the Vice Pit, I couldn't let a cool opportunity of the lifetime pass. The advice I gave "Embrace your Inner Nerd" came in handy.
In the what does your user account mean? thread, I originally had the name Kakashi as my username, but I changed to Taka to avoid "Kaka" which can be abused. I wasn't sure if the site was friendly. Turns out this site was great and friendly.
Hello to you, too!
Thanks everyone for your support. I hope to see folks embracing their inner nerd.
SAM IS BACK YEAH!!!!! So Glad to see SAM again, I hope you are doing well. Don't worry SAM my best friend is into my little pony and I do have to say it is better than the little kid cartoons I watched growing up...it still is a kids show for me though. *shrug*. Really wish you all had the money to come down to the southeast. Wow people actually did kill la kill cos play...talk about missing the point as the show was about not letting fashion rule you and really was anticoss play for that reason..sigh..to bad you are not going to telling us what you are doing oh new Job....what is this???? AND YES MORE SAM MORE SAM MORE SAM.....*cries* I am sorry we don't give you enough love Sam *internet hug engage!* (and yes Sam when you want to turn it off you just hit record again ;).
Huh, so I was half right in pronouncing Taka's name, just mispronouncing the chea part. Also...hypah usah Taka?! For a second there I was scared that you were going to proclaim Taka the new Shogun of the Vice Tom, glad you are still with us :).
Saaaaaaaam! You should come back more often, the banter between you two is great! I heard that you liked Kill la Kill, so I would be interested to see you two have a discussion about it, since Tom didn't seem to like it as much.
I am REALLY going to try and go to AX next year, as I have never been to an anime con before. Maybe I'll be able to meet all you gentlemen if I am able to attend. Plus it might be a fun road trip. But until then, nice coverage of AX.
Don't worry, I wouldn't be a good replacement for Tom Pinchuk. It's just the title, "Hyper User." He has connections to the anime and comic book industry through Viz Media, Max Steel, and his works on Hybrid Bastard.
The chea is a Khmer name, specifically my mother's maiden name. I don't know why I used it in my username. Then again, it shows how much culture we put in the An Entire World of Anime Fans! -- THE VICE PIT project. It would be awesome to meet you. Then our four will become five. We will be a complete set for Sentai Rangers
We didn't have a camera at that time. We used Sam's Flip phone. Since it was windy that evening (around 6PM), Sam proposes we speak in the recorder. Good eye. I guess that's why I was speaking too quietly because I wasn't projecting my voice or talking near to the recorder.
It's all right. You can still hear Sam and Tom loud and clear.
Sure, do you happen to know which one it is. How was hanging out with those two if you don't mind me asking? You seemed a little nervous.
I was camera shy. Being on the spot, I kind of lost my train of thought and scramble my words when preparing my thoughts and anticipating what questions Tom would ask. I'm not good as Tom, Sam, or @sickVisionz who are stronger public speakers than me. It was pretty fun hanging out with the Vice Pit gang. Doing a Sailor Moon photo shoot. I never imagine hitting the arcades and shooting zombies. Then, doing a Vice Pit. I couldn't refuse a Vice Pit, being a shy person. It was a once in a life time opportunity. I'll work on it. Thanks for being concerned.
I don't remember the exact front page article where sickVisionz made his debut. Ethan, the former staff, posted one of sickVisionz's videos on the front page. Now, you know what two of the mods look like!
Here's one of his vids.
