Animax is a Japanese anime satellite TV network co-owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Toei, Sunrise, TMS Entertainment, and NAS.
January 2009 status quo reflects availability in 66 countries and
reach over 100 million households in the world. It has become a
leading iconic brand. It is the ‘Largest & No.

2000 anime titles worldwide (including Japan). All this, in just a
period of 4 years (as Animax started broadcasting outside of Japan only
in 2004) makes it the world’s fastest growing channel.
History
Founded on May 20, 1998, Animax operates world-wide, including in Japan, Taiwan, Latin America, and some parts of Europe. The company also occasionally sponsors events in North America, although it does not operate a channel in the United States yet (in spite of 2004 rumors that such a network was in the works).
