On Crunchyroll, there was an article featuring the LeetStreet Boys' latest animated music video. I fell in love with their music and their references to video games and anime.

LeetStreet Boys are the greatest otaku band ever! Spanning across the multimedia of music, animation, comics and games, they play songs about their passion for anime, video games and Japanese culture.

Their line-up includes dreamy singer/songwriter Matt, pompous guitarist Justin, super-cool bassist Rose and temperamental dragon drummer D-Dos.

For some odd reason lately I've felt compelled to spend a lot more time on YouTube recently. And a good bit of that time has been checking out AMVs. It takes a good bit of time and dedication to make them-though some work better than others. As some of you might know, I'm a hard rock and metal fan when it comes to music. So what I've done is search for some hard-hitting AMVs where the music goes really well with the scenes put together. Hope you all enjoy.

Gundam 00 Featuring "Fading Away" by Demon Hunter

Demon Hunter is a band I've been growing into and this is a song I really like. What makes the band a little different is they are Christian metal. Those aren't usually associated together but there are a number of bands like them. I have seen very little of Gundam 00 but when I came across this AMV it just seemed to work. The lyrics play their part but the editing fuses well with the sound.

Sasuke Featuring "Not Ready to Die" by Avenged Sevenfold

A7X is another band I enjoy. This song was originally made for the Call of the Dead DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops but upon seeing this I was surprised how well it turned out. This AMV contains footage from Naruto far beyond where I've watched. However, the content provided with the song does pretty well with the fight scenes and the telling of how Sasuke isn't going to quit until he does whatever it is he wants to do.

Seras Victoria Featuring "In Waves" by Trivium

Trivium is a band I've only just got into since I'm trying to delve deeper into the harder center of metal. The song only came out last year I think but I'm glad someone used it. That being said, the scenes used work quite well since most of what you see is enemy waves coming. Maybe the lyrics don't quite match up you can't really say the intro isn't pretty cool.

Black Lagoon Featuring "Public Enemy No. 1" by Megadeth

I admit I'm not a big Megadeth fan but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the older crews of metal. This AMV features scenes from all parts of Black Lagoon and I find the editing really good. Not to mention just how suiting the song is considering the scenes used and knowledge of all the happenings in the series. In the world of Black Lagoon there is certainly no shortage of heinous characters.

Seras Victoria Featuring "Waking the Demon" by Bullet For My Valentine

Ok, yes, it seems pretty shotty of me to put another Hellsing Ultimate AMV in here but trust me. Bullet is one of my favorite bands, and though this isn't their heaviest song, it is very suiting the scenes pieced together here. I also like the flashes of negative that go along with the drums. Vampires have demons, too, wouldn't you say?

Bleach Featuring "This War is Ours (The Guillotine II)" by Escape the Fate

Escape the Fate is more metalcore/screamo but I like the Guillotine trilogy the band has done. And I know many of you are disgusted I brought in a Bleach AMV considering there are so damn many of them (along with DBZ and Naruto) that it isn't even funny. But this one is a quick combination of many fight scenes and I found the editing to be pretty good.

Conclusion

So that's what I have for you Vicers. I hope to find more well done AMVs to songs I like but I try to keep away from ones made of the Big Four (I haven't found any I like yet for Fairy Tail). When you look for AMVs is there something in particular you want to find? I prefer searching by band name instead of by anime and I have been happy to find so many people like metal and anime enough to put them together.

It's amazing what people can come up with. I stumbled across this on the interwebs and it brought a smile to my face. Moments before stumbling across this I was actually thinking about checking out a series I hadn't seen before and this sealed the deal for that show being YuruYuri.

I really loved the last Bleach filler arc and I've wanted to do something about it for a while now but I was never sure what exactly it should be. A week or so ago I got the idea to do an AMV with all of the fights in it, but I decided that might be a bit much considering this is my first time doing something like this. Instead, I decided to dedicate a video to my favorite character from the arc: Kageroza Inaba / Oku Yushima.

The process was pretty fun, although it really stressed to me how much I need a new Macbook. I wanted to make it HD but it was taking over an hour transcode 2 minutes from a 720p MP4 so I decided to go SD. Not to mention that I almost burnt myself touching the bottom of it the laptop after it had been cranking for an hour. Chopping the video up was pretty straight forward... time consuming, but straight forward. Playing around with the music and audio brought up a couple of challenges in getting things synced up and have to splice a few songs up here and there to make things work. My background with music and audio production helped out a lot with getting those parts right enough. Some things stick out like a sore thumb, but I think that's my ears. Messing around with sound effects was interesting too.

All in all it was a lot of fun to play with. I plan on doing ALL of the characters' fights, but I finished up episode 319 and wanted to get some feedback on it. I'd LOOOOOVE to hear what you all think about it.

Now we can all admit to having at least seen a few of them (if not made one or two along the way), but which ones are truly good? I pick out a few of my own. Now please note that the authors listed here are only uploaders of the videos. They may not have had the drive to actually create them, but if they did... good on them for doing so.

1) Crazy Loopin - AMV Dance by rspectcopyrightmyass

Why? It takes the bits from the opening of 'Rosario X Vampire Capu2', the ending of 'Haruhi season 01', the opening of 'Disgaea 3', and clips from 'Slayers Next', and makes it... well, crazy. But in a good way. Watched all the way through, this piece of techno/pop just accentuates the clips being used with it, if not enhancing them ever more so.

2) Pretty fly for a Battousai by samuraichikx

Hmm... this was one that I discovered by accident some time back, and still enjoy watching to this day. Why? Well, somehow, the lyrics that're talking about white trash in suburbia today strangely fit Kenshin's profile for his 1870's character. Weird, no?

3) Escaflowne AMV - Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place on Earth by bootbylicious

Now this is a tricky song to have ANYTHING put to, but the user crafted one excellent video using clips from both the series and movie versions of 'Escaflowne' to make something that is- for lack of a better term- magical.

4) >> Black Lagoon - Blow Me Away [AMV] << by Swejunk

Now this song isn't tough to put to anything, per se, but to be able to have the clips flow smoothly with the music now only in tempo but in keeping the pacing JUST RIGHT... that takes special attention from the person piecing it all together.

5) Final Fantasy VIII AMV - Celine Dion "My Heart Will Go On" by MichelleCassidy

Last, but not least, is a song that could be used over and over again for any number of couples... but this person (in my humble opinion) created something special when they gave a new breath of life to the relationship between Squall and Rinoa. Truly... beautiful.

Well, those are my picks. If y'all have any others you want to throw out there, just keep on postin'.

Here I am with another special AMV to share with you all. I discovered this years ago and I really loved it. I'm a fan of Black Lagoon. I was heartbroken when I heard VIZ was publishing the manga. If they thought smoking was too controversial for Naruto. I hate to image what they changed in Black Lagoon. Especially when it came to those vampire twins.

Black Lagoon - Roberta

The song is "Millionaire" by Queens Of The Stone Age. This AMV about Black Lagoon's Roberta is an awesome bit of editing. it would be great if the person who originally made this would make a HD version. Watching this is a good example as to why you should give this series a try.
