The Princess of Planet Arus, who later pilots the Blue Lion after Sven was badly injured. She has recently stepped down from the Voltron Force to serve as Queen of Arus, her niece Larmina replaced her as the Blue Lion pilot.
Origin
Allura is the crowned Princess of Planet Arus, she was orphaned at a very young age and left in the care of Coran, who along with Nanny raised her in a very sheltered fashion within the confines of the Castle of Lions. Allura's only friends as a young child were the numerous Space Mice who inhabit the castle. Unknown to Allura, her father King Alfor's spirit also watched over and protected her. When the Super Force of Space Explorers came to Arus in search of Voltron, Allura insisted to Coran that they help the group, the problem was, the location of only 4 of Voltron's keys were known, and the Black Lion key was missing, Allura soon learned that her Space Mice friends were in possession of the 5th key and convinced them to give it to her, thus allowing the formation of Voltron to be made possible.
Allura assisted the team, but usually remained at a safe distance, but when Blue Lion pilot Sven was savagely attacked by Haggar, Coba, and Blue Fiend, a new pilot was needed, and Allura took the controls of the Blue Lion without permission or training.
Early on, Allura was a fairly bad pilot, and often made critical mistakes, the Voltron Force often brought up the subject of replacing her. But over time she became a great pilot, Allura is also revealed to be the greatest hand to hand combatant of the team due to extensive martial arts training she has received throughout her life. All in all any belief that the Princess is the team's weak link has long since been put to rest.
