Origin

Alibaba's happy childhood

His mother (Anise) was a prostitute and a former maid of a king. In his childhood, he often spent time playing with Kassim and the children in the slum. His mother took in Kassim and Mariam after their father abandoned them. The happy days ended when Anise passed away. Alibaba found himself working odd jobs to survive while Kassim and his crew resorted to pillaging to the same. Out of the blue, Alibaba found out that he was the illegitimate son of the king when the King of Balbadd (Rashid Saluja) came to slums and explained to Alibaba that his mother was his maid. When Alibaba broke the news to Kassim, Kassim remarked that Alibaba and him were always different and that Alibaba never belong in the slums. Upon hearing Kassim's words, Alibaba punched Kassim. Afterwards, Alibaba left for the palace where he is educated in the way of the prince.

Years later, Alibaba snucked out of the palace where he visits the slums only to find out that it was completely gone. He spotted Kassim, and the two drink together while chatting. Kassim asked Alibaba how he got out, and Alibaba stated that he used tunnels just like in their childhood games. Getting back to the palace and feeling good about apologizing to Kassim, Alibaba was called to his father's side. The ill king asked Alibaba to become the new king because Ahbmad was a lazy person who easily depended on others and did other countries' bidding and that Alibaba was more of a capable king than Ahbmad.

Creation

Alibaba's Concept

Alibaba Saluja is created by Shinobu Ohtaka who originally intended for Alibaba's design to be very muscular. The story was set in Rome with Alibaba being a gladiator. However, Shinobu changed her original design when she wanted a funnier story instead of a serious story.

Evolution

Appearance

Alibaba is blonde, fair skin man with golden eyes. His attire composes of a long cloak that tied at the end, and he has a rope-like thing around his neck.

Personality

Alibaba is a clever, kind, and hard working man who does waver when making big decisions. In two instances, he is unsure what do with Casshim who is bent on killing the Balbadd royalty to solve the problem, and he is not sure if he's a strong leader for the Fog Troupe after seeing how powerful Sinbad and Casshim are. He is quite modest and does not want people to call him, king.

Relationships

• Aladdin - He and Aladdin are close friends who support each other. In battle, they fight well together and cover each others' back.
• Morgiana - He and Morgiana are also close friends. When Morgiana tries to help Alibaba with Kasshim, Alibaba tells her that he needs to do things on his own. In the battle with Kassim, Alibaba learns that he is not alone and that Morgiana and his friends are there to help him.
• Kassim - He and Kassim are childhood friends. Alibaba had a great mother while Kasshim's father was terrible, and after Kasshim's father throws out Kasshim, Alibaba's mother welcome both Kassim and Kassim's little sister into their family. Both Alibaba and Kasshim work hard to support each other until Alibaba's mother died. Then, Balbadd King finds out that Alibaba is his son. The two start to drift apart because of these events.

Alibaba is an expert swordsman who has learned fencing at an early age, and he is skilled with the dagger. With Amon's powers, he can deal devastating fire attacks.
