Before I begin my freelance/community service criticism of this episode of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! I feel I should apologize if my review for the previous episode implied that this one would be just as good. It's not. Not only does it take away any sense of intensity of the Daisy vs. Dino/Hibari fight of the previous episode in the final moments here, but it also does some time wasting all for the sake of ending the episode on a cliffhanger. In other words, you're probably better off just watching the recap in the episode after this one (I knew there was a good reason for overly-long episode recaps!)

How do you make a pair of handcuffs look "powerful?" By making it muliply in numbers rapidly of course!

Hibari finally joins the fight against the constantly-revitalizing Daisy, with his trusty Vongola Box weapon in the form of some spikey handcuffs. Yup, you read that right. The saving grace for this fight is a clairvoyant pair of bondage. Initially it seems both pointless for Daisy (and possible the audience, I know I'm in that group), but Hibari manages to prove their worth by defeating Daisy by the 'cuff's ability to speedily muliply in bondage material. I can understand why there are fans that find this weapon cool and honestly even I think it fits Hibari's character perfectly. But, really, handcuffs? Dino can use all the metaphors for it being like an "aloof cloud" like the cloud flames in Hibari's Vongola role, but that doesn't make this battle end on a note that is both unusual and unsatisfying.

When we returns to Tsuna's side, sadly Mr. Kawahira makes his grand exit albeit with some smack talk by, who else, Reborn about him both being powerful and knowledgeable despite this being his first appearance in the series. This definitely won't be the last we see of Kawahira which is something I have no problem with at all. After the deparature of he-who-is-so-cool, Tsuna's team do what they do best in assessing the situation with some overstressing on the good and bad side on some members splitting up to see what the situation is at the Vongola Base. All seems to be going well until Lambo turns out to not be Lambo, but Funeral Wreath Torikabuto in a mist disguise who takes no time in capturing Yuni. Will team Tsuna fix their predicament? Then check out the next (hopefully better) episode of Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
