This young anime studio is a subsidiary of the Sony-owned company Aniplex.

A-1 Pictures is a Japanese animation studio. It is a division of Aniplex, which is owned by Sony Entertainment.

A relatively young studio, A-1 was founded in 2005. Its first work was a co-production with No Side, titled Zenmei Zamurai. Its most popular series to date is probably 2008's Persona -trinity soul-, an anime tie-in with the popular Persona video games. The company produced several other works in 2008: Kannagi, Kuroshitsuji, and Tetsuwan Birdy: DECODE. Other more modern works include Sora no Woto, Sword Art Online and Anohana.
