Sure, we haven't even hit Otakon yet, but that doesn't mean the New York Anime Festival isn't kicking announcements into high gear. The latest news? They will actually be showing all THREE of the 20th Century Boys films at the convention this September, co-presented by VIZ Pictures and Subway Cinema.
Let me put this in perspective for you: 20th Century Boys is Japan's biggest film franchise at the moment. The third film is its conclusion. And it opens in Japan on August 29th. This is HUGE news! And yes, I am drooling over the chance to watch them all myself. I hope to god I have enough time!
The first two films will run on Friday the 25th; the third will premiere on Sunday.
And hey, while we're talking about NYAF, how about a little commercial?
It's an ad celebrating All Nippon Airways, who's partnered with NYAF to bring its guests over. It's also really cute, eh?
